As the temperature finally start to heat up, one thing that’s definitely missing from my closet is a pair of Spring Jeans! These are those light weight, super soft, almost white jeans that are an instant update to your inky Skinnies from the Fall/Winter.
For the warmer weather, dark skinny jeans are still acceptable but these “acid washed” jeans are a fresh and fun update to your Spring wardrobe! And while I’ve expressed my dislike for boot- cut styles in the past, with these lighter colors I’m being a little more open minded and I kind of like the flare leg on them like in the picture above!
But if you’re still unsure if this demin trend is for you, here are some styles you can try out with a minimal investment:

American Idol is one of the top shows on television-everyone is watching these days! Not only can the contestants sing but they’re already staring looking like rock stars little by little each week!
And even though some of the contestant’s wardrobe consists of top designers, like Vera Wang, you can look like one of the AI kids for a fraction of the price…here’s how:
When I watched American Idol a few weeks ago I thought Michelle Delamore’s look was right on trend for the 22 year old singer. And while I may not always agree with the judges on their opinion of the contestants performances, that night we all agreed that she looks fabulous!
She wore a white mini dress by Vera Wang, black tights, a cropped black jacket, heels and Lady GaGa-esque gloves. So… if you’re dying to know how to get this look for less start your shopping at CheapChica favorites like Charlotte Russe, Free People, and Forever 21…but remember to start with the focal point of the look.
In this case, I started with the dress and found one just like it at Forever 21 for only $29.80 and built my outfit from there…and while this trend setting singer was voted off, her diva style that night was a real winner!

How cute is this little casual grey romper? And you know what makes it even cuter…a $25 price tag!
This adorable jumper is made from bamboo cotton french terry which is the kind of material I want to live in all Summer long! This style is also available in white and I have to add that it’s the perfect buy for the start of Spring.

Leave it to Forever 21 to recreate a totally expensive “lust” item into an affordable must-have…
Following my daily ritual of checking the new items on Forever 21’s website, I came across a lovely lace dress that mimicked a dress I had previously obsessed over from Free People. Although I get a “slight” discount from Free People (the benefits of being a previous Anthropologie manager…gone part-time associate) I still have a hard time spending THAT much on their clothing.
However once again Forever 21 came though on providing me with my fashion fix! This lovely lace mini dress is great on so many levels. From the contrasting fabrics, stud detailing around the neck and the sexy T back, this is one item that won’t last very long.
Originally $148 at Free People now yours for only $22.80!!! Can you believe it…hurry up and get yours!

Next to my shoe God, Christian Louboutin, when it comes to pricey shoes Jimmy Choo is one of my favorite brands to lust after.
After a disappointing collection at H&M that was way overpriced, it’s back to lusting after more shoes I can’t have from their always impressive selections…like this caged style!
I tried these on last Spring in Orange and I instantly fell in love. They were the perfect mix of edgy and feminine and they seriously made my feet look so good–if feet can actually ever look good!
Anyway, with a $800+ price tag, that purchase never happened so when I saw them on Bluefly.com I got super excited, but they were only offering a 20% savings…and that does not a deal make.
But you know what is a good deal? This almost identical style from Piere Dumas! Unlike the originals, they don’t offer that awesome Orange color, but if you’re looking for a black Spring/Summer sandal that doesn’t feel too heavy with skirts/dresses and all of the season’s lighter fabrics, these shoes are definitely it!! Last time I checked they had sizes 5.5-11 in stock so act fast…at only $49 these are sure to be a sell out!

This week’s Street Styles post simply celebrates the beauty of my favorite color-pink. Which look is your favorite?
Look one features the luminous Susie Bubble in a photograph by Cafe Mode. The bright pink blends beautifully with nude beiges. A neon pink blazer is a bold and fun way to incorporate color in look two, via Chictopia. The pearls are a cute touch!
Look three, also via Chictopia, is a subdued version of pink, but looks fun, casual and comfy to wear anytime. Leopard print accessories and multiple layers of patterned pink make for a fun and stylish outfit in look four, via Team Peter Stigter. And how great is her leather blazer?

Click it/ Skip it:Click it! Not to sound like a broken record but I’m kind of obsessed with this banded style right now, and this dress from Express is one of the best renditions of the trend (besides the originals) that I’ve seen yet!
Fit: The great thing about this dress is the size run! It comes is XXS through L but my recommendation is to size down. I know that sounds nuts, but the whole point of this dress is that it fits snug against your curves –so if you size down, it’ll hug you in all the right places while sucking you in, in all the wrong places!
Shopper’s Notes: The color on this is really beautiful…it’s got a hint of metallic but you won’t feel like a disco queen! I also LOVE the wide one shoulder strap–it makes the silhouette very modern and current!!

I looove this look on Jessica Biel. Come to think of it, I’d also love it on you… me… pretty much anyone. Why, you ask? Because it’s chicly current.. but also because it’s pretty comfortable (gasp!) and… pretty accessible for almost anyone to buy and wear (double gasp!).
It’s no secret that printed dresses are everywhere, and there will only be an even bigger influx of them with the dawn of spring. And those trillions of black boyfriend blazers you’ve been double-guessing yourself about buying? Well, you finally have an excuse to snag one on sale (I also found a few for you below).
What’s truly great about this look is that it’s very trendy yet it somehow can consist of… juuuust about any printed dress (add in an asymmetrical element if you’re feeling extra daring), just about any black blazer (you can score ones at under$15.00 if you’re willing to dig at Goodwill), and just about anyblack t-strap heels or sandals.
So basically, a cute, comfortable outfit that will flatter many-a body type and attainable for under $100.00. What are you waiting for?

There’s been nothing better than walking out the door these past few days without a jacket on… this 60 degree weather is AMAZING! With the update in the weather forecast I was more than ready to toss away my winter go-to staple (the scarf) and trade it for a refreshing alternative…the ULTRAfabulous extra long statement necklace!
If you haven’t caught on to this ultra chic trend, now is the time! Spring is the initiation of shedding those layers and baring more skin. Although it is hard for me to rid myself of my “security blanket” (as I like to call it), adding long strands of silver and fringe around my neck is a definite upgrade for Spring.
The best part about these long and overpowering necklaces are that they look like a million bucks! Ranging between only $10-$50 this is a great investment! You can easily transition them from outfit to outfit and from day to night. Just expect tons of compliments the second you walk out the door!
Here are some ULTRA great picks…

I love your site – it’s sooooo fun! I need a little help…
I am in a wedding at the end of March. And my best friend is giving us bridesmaids the freedom of getting our own dresses with 2 requirements…the dress must be coral and it needs to be ‘vintage-y’. Do you have any suggestions where I could find a coral color dress, with a vintage look – without breaking the bank?
Thanks,
Elena
I’m so excited that you wrote in! I have the perfect dress for you and I think your budget and bride will love it! Coral is one of the hottest colors of the season so you’re in luck because this dress from Windsor will be something you can actually wear long after the ceremony!
I picked this dress for a few reasons: the cut-very 40’s “vintage-y”, the fabric- a hint of sheen and because it’s the perfect blank canvas for you to accessorize!
As a bridesmaid, you can get lost in your bride’s choices for you, but with a dress like this, you really have the ability to make it your own! Depending on whether you want to go classic or colorful, here are a few options for the perfect wedding look!
And like anyone who’s been in multiple bridal parties will tell you, the cost of these dresses can really add up over time so the fact that this one costs less than $60 makes it a total no-brainer and everything I paired with it comes in well under $100 as well!

I’m back with another fantastic drugstore beauty find! Burt’s Bees (everyone’s favorite, easily-accessible natural brand) lemon butter cuticle cream is definitely one of my personal all-time favorites because it’s such a cute little a multi-purpose balm (it has the texture of a very thick lip balm)… with a cute little price tag to match ($5.00 to $6.00 at most drugstores!).
Not only does this magic salve serve as a cuticle cream (admit it, the words “lemon butter” just sound appealing), I also like to keep it on-hand (no pun intended) for when my hands are dry (I’m not a fan of carrying around bulky lotion that can leak) and—my favorite–I also like to use it as a perfume (the citrus-y scent is so refreshing yet not overbearing; I love it) and as a hair balm/palm-aid in a pinch.
I’ve also been known to use it as a lip balm in desperate times. It’s a bit thick, but hey… it’ll do the trick. This is what is so great about natural products–you don’t have to be afraid to use them (in most cases) almost anywhere… !
I’m telling you, keep a teeny tray of this in your bag and you will automatically possess a wealth of beauty fixes… literally at your fingertips. What do you use your Burt’s for?

I’m totally loving the color and the studs on this jacket, but the length not so much…
This is one of those items that I’m going to have to check out for myself in person before I give my final verdict but I am seeing more and more of this style and it definitely caught my eye!
I think the styling in the pic is throwing me off a little…if you look at the full picture on the Forever 21 site, that t-shirt is way too long and this might be one of those jackets that looks best over a dress and not with separates. Remember people…it’s all about getting the right proportions!!
So what do you think? Is this a style you’d rock or is it a pass…leave us a comment and let us know!

With a hint of Spring in the air, I know it’s that time of year when I need to bust out a new coat…a trench coat to be exact. It’s just the thing to get your through April’s showers and cool mornings!
Over the years I’ve collected a few of these styles but they all seem a little dated and in major need or revamping now, so inspired by this amazing cropped Burberry coat from their Spring 2010 collection I paid a visit to my tailor!
As someone who’s vertically-challenged a good tailor is my secret weapon to make everything in my closet fit and feel proportional to my body… and since I know she can work wonders I figured she could breathe new life (and hopefully a touch of Burberry) to my old coats!
We started by switching out the old tan buttons for larger, over-sized black ones. Next we shortened the sleeves to a more modern 3/4 length and finally we cut off about 6″ to bring the length way above the knee like the runway picture above!
For styling purposes, I got rid of the self belt and added a leather one instead to give it more of an edge! But I’m going to have to pass on the socks/sandals combo…that is one look this girl won’t be taking off the runway!
Now if you’ve got an old trench lying around, this mini-makeover could work wonders on your old coat and if you don’t have one yet, this style from F21 is def. a great buy…and I’m loving that checkered trim! And these budget buys below aren’t too bad either…

I never really thought twice about hair extensions until this past fall. A girl I worked with had the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. Very Megan Fox like…long, dark and super straight. I lusted over it for weeks until I got up enough courage to compliment her on her gorgeous locks.
To my surprise she responded that she had hair extensions. I was utterly in shock. Her hair looked so natural! From then on I was absolutely sold on the idea.
If you’re seriously looking to invest in hair extensions, I would first talk to your stylist to see what they recommend for your hair color and type. They will be able to lead you in the right direction…for they ARE the hair experts!
However just so you are up to date on your extension lingo, here is a very basic guide to those long precious locks:
There are two kinds of hair, synthetic and human. Synthetic will cost you way less but human hair looks more natural and you can keep it in for much longer…Lilliana even told me that she had her Great Lengths in for almost 3 months after her wedding!
She swears that the results were unbelievable and it’s all thanks to the kertain polymer Great Lengths uses to bind the fake hair to your real hair so that it blends naturally and so that it minimizes the damage.
But, if you’re looking for a simpler and cheaper alternative, there’s always clip in hair…
Jessica Simpson along with her stylist Ken Paves, have created their own line called HairDo which gives you the look of long, lush hair but without the expense. These extensions simply clip in and they come in a variety of colors so you can get the shade and style that works best for you for a whole lot less!
What do you think about extensions…are they super chic or far from it?

Click it/ Skip it:Click it! I mean really, do you have to ask? I’ve only been mini-stalking these since they first came out…they look like they’re Gucci! And you can’t beat that price!
Fit: I just tried these on today and I’m totally dying over them! Unfortunatly they ran big (around the ankles) and they didn’t have a size 5.5 in stock so I would order down if you have small feet.
Shopper’s Notes: I love shoes like these because they’re a buy now/wear now. They look fierce with tights but they will look even better with bare legs once it gets warmer outside.
That being said, if you are not accustomed to wearing heels these may not be for you. Even with the platform they still feel very high and I have to admit that they did hurt somewhat just walking around in the store!
