LC Lauren Conrad Floral Babydoll Dress: $41.99
Click it/ Skip it: Click it! Click it fast or get to your local Kohl’s to grab it before its gone. This was a shining star in a a collection that had a lot of great pieces.
LC’s summer pieces are full of lingerie inspired bodices, floral prints, and flowy tops. Plus bonus! Almost everything at Kohl’s is always on sale and with the 40% off offered in store and online the dress comes to a sweet $40.
Fit: I love, love, loved, the cut of this dress, its sexy, sweet, and ultra slimming! It fits true to size, and the fabric is a stretchy cotton so you will be breathing comfortable on these hot and humid summer days.
However, my favorite feature, the bodice, was the downfall for my body shape. While it is a slimming feature, if you have a large bust, like me, the cups might be a bit small. My size four did not match with my large cup size and my store didn’t carry the next size up so I was out of luck. If you can’t find your size in the dress, check out these very similar tanks.
Shopper’s Notes: The pattern was a bit retro (in a good way) but the bodice and the exposed back zipper were a great modern contrast. The sweetheart neckline is sexy and romantic, but the pattern and the feeling of the dress make it day time appropriate! This dress would be PERFECT for upcoming summer BBQs or Grad parties.

UPDATE: Scroll to the bottom for a “Look for Less” version of her cover outfit!!
It takes a talented hand to pull off a sexy eye with a fresh faced look–but Lauren Conrad’s make up artist Amy Nadine pulls it off without a hitch. On Lauren’s cover for Glamour magazine they went for a little va va voom by vamping up the eye shadow but keeping the rest of her face simple yet polished.
Amy’s blog is filled with amazing tips and how to’s on all her looks she does for celebrities like Conrad, Melissa Ordway, and Shantel VanSanten. The best thing about Amy Nadine is with her amazing talent she works with products that are Cheap Chica friendly that will keep you looking fresh without the price of designer make-up brands.
Read on below for an excerpt from Amy’s Blog on how to get Lauren’s sultry look, and don’t forget to follow this artist on the rise on twitter @amynadine:
First apply foundation to your entire eyelid (try mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch $10 in Natural) and follow with a sweep of powder (I used mark Mattnificent Powder $10 in Natural Buff). **Both foundation and powder should be the same shades that you used on your face and neck.
Next, line your upper lash line with black liquid liner (we always use mark Get In Line Hook Up Liquid Liner $6 in Painted Black because it’s waterproof so it lasts, and the brush is ultra-thin making it incredibly user friendly).
Start with soft pressure at the inner corner then gradually press firmer as you work your way outward and upward; the harder you press, the thicker the line. Follow with mascara (mark Scandalash Hook Up $6 in Blacklash) and a few individual flare lashes.
Using a gel liner and small eyeliner brush (I used mark Keep It Going Longwear Liner & Shadow $6 in Entourage and mark Flat Eyeliner Brush $6), dip your brush in the black liner then swirl it around on the back of your hand to smooth it out.
Start at the outside corner of your lower lashline (so the highest concentration of product is placed there) and drag the brush inward (I use small strokes as I work my way across, but you can also do one big sweep). Then using your ring finger, go back over the line and smudge it back and forth so you “blur” the line.
The result is instant drama and a great alternative if you’re like Lauren and you don’t love wearing any eye shadow on your lids!!

Gahhhh. I love this outfit! For so many reasons…
1. It’s perfect for spring (neutrals galore!) 2. It’s easy to put together; these pieces can be found everywhere! 3. It incorporates two of spring’s biggest trends: the asymmetrical neckline and the brown gladiator 4. Given the occasion (an event in Times Square for Reese’s candy!), it’s oh-so à propos. She fits right in with the brand’s color scheme, yet manages to do it in a classy, understated way. Good job, Lauren! No… really.
I’ve noticed, as I’m sure you have too, that Lauren loves to incorporate more casual pieces into her ensembles; one way or another, that laid-back California girl creeps in, and I love that.
In this case here, it’s the braided belt (a great opportunity to shop vintage too!). I love the juxtaposition of the everyday item with a smokin’ hot mini cocktail tress. And the best part? You can pair all that up with nude gladiators that not only elongate the leg, but enable you to wear *sky-high* heels without feeling like a dominatrix (or a street-walker).
Plus, the asymmetrical neckline makes a statement all its own, no accessories needed! Lauren’s the queen of understated chic, and I think this is a perfect illustration of that. If I had to add one thing, it’d be a splash of color courtesy of a bold clutch…
Find a fun fluorescent/neon piece; or, I think this classic cut would look amazing in almost any color… you could switch it up and rock the dress in a vivid color and contrast with a nude clutch… either way, veritable eye-candy, I’d say. No matter what you decide, the brown belt and the nude shoes (light browns, beiges, cream, etc.) will always tie it all together. Just remember to keep it above the knee…
Check out some budget-friendly options below that might inspire your own spin… !

Well she did it again! Lauren Conrad’s line for Kohls is back and better then ever. Her take on California’s laid back style is seen throughout her entire collection. From lightweight jumpsuits to airy and ruffled camisoles are just a few pieces of LC’s fab line.
Though the California bomb-shell made her debut on MTV’s hit T.V show Laguna Beach she proved to all of us she’s one fashion icon and designer that is here to stay!
Though her pieces for this spring are really cute they’re not that original but hey…. who cares right? Lucky for us these LC garments will range anywhere from $20 to $60.
After looking at LC’s collection for Kohls there were countless items I would deffinetly purchase including this “LBlueD”, which retails for $39.99. I really love the color and find it super cute for any summer function, not to mention it totally reminds me of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s yellow mini dress LC wore back in ‘09.
And while you fill your online shopping cart with a few of LC’s Spring pieces don’t forget that Kohls is offering Free Shipping on all orders of $75 or more!

Dear Cheap Chica,
I just received my BCBG Bandage Skirt in royal blue and I don’t know what to wear it! Please help me style an outfit for this awesome skirt!!
Thanks!
Tiffany
Dear Tiffany,
I have to say that your choice in skirts is fabulous and I’m so happy to hear that you chose it in royal blue! The bandage skirt is one of the hottest trends we are seeing this season!
If you’re willing to go bold, my advice is to hit up a primary color and find a unique silhouette like this top from Forever 21. This one is a little on the longer side, but you’ll be tucking it in and I like the contrast of a voluminous top with such a tight fitting skirt.
A top in a bright, attention getting color like yellow combined with your royal blue skirt will make your outfit look new and seriously updated.
Now if you’re looking for something a little safer, choosing a simple black tank can complete your look as well. Celebrities such as Lauren Conrad and Rhianna and have both been spotted in this sleek and sexy look.
In this look here Conrad chooses to accessorize her blue bandage skirt by keeping everything else black…and this definitely allows her skirt to be her main attraction!
When it come to shoes opt for a high pump in any neutral tone for the bright outfit and a black shoe for the simpler look.
The great thing about the bandage skirt is that it’s totally versatile…you can wear this with anything from tanks and tees during the Spring/Summer and with cute leather jackets and your your favorite blazer all year long!
Here are some of my favorite picks for styling your newest purchase…

Love her or hate her, Kelly Cutrone makes for damn good TV. In Bravo’s newest reality hit in the making (I’m calling it right now!) Kell on Earth, you get a behind the scenes look at the high-powered and fast-paced world of fashion PR as cameras follow the life of Kelly and the team at People’s Revolution.
If you’re a reality TV fan, you know Kelly from both The Hills and The City, but this series completely strips the People’s Revolution office of all it’s fake glamour brought on by these two shows.
Instead of beautiful lighting and even more beautiful assistants, in this show, Kelly let’s us see how someone who actually works in this cut-throat industry looks (at 1:30am–without shiny hair and a make-up artist standing in the wings) and feels about themselves and their job.

There’s no time for Lauren Conrad’s awkward silences and endless hair twisting…or Stephanie Pratt’s total incompetence in this NYC office!
And in case you missed the premiere, here’s a link to the Kell on Earth site where you can get a taste for Kelly’s cut and dry approach to everything…catch the show Monday’s at 10pm EST on Bravo.

I love the way a vintage brown belt can automatically add a bit of allure to an otherwise basic outfit and I know that celebs such as Sienna Miller and Rachel Bilson would agree with me. I own two of them myself, and they definitely rank among some of the favorite pieces in my closet, not to mention the fact that they are affordable (usually under $40.00) and seem to go with… everything!
I like to sport mine with jeans, oxfords and flats, but I’ve also noticed that lately, some celebs like Lauren Conrad are taking the look to a whole other level by cinching their evening wear with what appears to be a vintage brown belt.
Let me just say that there’s nothing more exciting than a splash of unexpected contrast, especially when it comes to the red carpet, so I commend ladies such as Lauren for being daring and coming out on top—the result is so fab!
While I snagged my belts at various vintage stores over the years, there are plenty of possibilities on Etsy if you are looking for an authentic vintage piece.
However, if you prefer to buy retail (in other words: brand-new), I’ve even noticed that some of our favorite stores (J.Crew, Banana Republic) have taken note of this trend and are offering more and more vintage-inspired pieces, and that includes belts, especially brown ones.
Are you convinced yet ? I hope so. I think it’s safe to say that whether it be brand-new or the real (read: vintage) thing, brown belts are clearly here to stay!
These are truly timeless pieces that will last you a lifetime…I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
Happy {vintage} hunting!

Welcome all you lovely ladies to everything hair! Whether you’re one to fuss over your precious locks for hours or you are the one that can wake up out of bed with a perfect hair-do (who we all secretly envy), The Hair Guide will give you the scoop on styles, accessories, products and celeb faves. Let’s face it, whether we like to admit it or not our hair can make or break our style, the “bad hair day” is not a myth.
I thought it was only right to start out with the hair-do that never fails or goes out of style…the braid. We all started wearing the braid back in second grade, whether it was in a high ponytail or two pigtails, the braid has come a long way.
Now, whenever I am having a day where my hair is just lying flat or going in all directions, I turn to the never failing braid. My favorite is to make one small braid on either side of my hair and connect them in the back (wearing your hair either up or down). This is a more casual look and a favorite of Lauren Conrad.
My other go-to is making a thick braid and wrapping it around the head to create a very sleek look that can enhance any “night on the town” outfit. Sienna Miller wears this look brilliantly!!
Another great braided look is braiding a couple of small braids throughout your hair to get a very messy/bohemian look which, is perfect for Blake Lively who has very wavy locks. So don’t fret the next time you are having a bad hair day and turn to the braid!
How to get Lauren’s look in just 4 easy steps:
Step 1. Take the front piece of hair on either side of your head and pull back to make sure each piece lies nicely on each side
Step 2. Add a little bit of hair to each piece to make each side even, the more hair you add the bigger the braids will be
Step 3. Once you have the right amount of hair on each side, use a hair tie to hold the hair on one side while braiding the other side
Step 4. Once each side is braided, either connect the braids in the back of your head with a hair tie (you can jazz it up with a clip or barrette!!) while keeping the rest of your hair down or take the rest of your hair, braids included and make a ponytail!

I’m not one to lie (especially about my affinity for junky, reality TV), but I do have to come clean and say that this season of The Hills is highly disappointing…
I don’t know if it has to do with our original narrator’s departure or the fact that it just looks sooooo fake now that I can’t be bothered to watch, but whatever it is I’m not sure how much longer I will spend my Tuesday nights glued to the TV.
Nonetheless, I have enjoyed watching old Hills episodes on MTV en Espanol while I’ve been in Mexico City and it dawned on me that Audrina has changed so so much since the first season!
She’s really stepped up her style game and while she still has some skanky moments, overall she’s really cleaned up her act (adios Justin Bobby!) and seeing her look so casually chic in this pictures and not so wanna-be rocker chick makes me smile!
I love this outfit and it’s a perfect daytime look but I do have to point out that IMHO, I kind of hate Buffalo Plaid (the checkered kind)….I much prefer a Tartan plaid so I subbed in a cuter Black and Red shirt for the one she has on.
This look is perfect for a weekend shopping trip, a casual brunch date or for a quick trip to Starbucks! And while Audrina probably has thousands to spend on this kind of outfit (she makes $35,000 per episode!), you can steal her style for a fraction of the cost…

It was a night of trying too hard at the VMA’s…
For attention (I’m talking to you Amber Rose!), to look like a “rock star” ( GaGa, WTF?) and to be an all around douche (this is all I will say on the K.West drama)…but for what it’s worth, the VMA’s were entertaining and I’m so happy they’re back in NYC where they belong.
The fashions were mediocre at best…hello, Kristen Cavallari made my top 3! These were easily my favorite looks of the night….but maybe that’s just because I’m totally having an affair with all things shiny and sparkly! And notice that the TV stars totally out-fashioned the so called “rock stars”??
