No matter which look you are going for 20’s flapper or 90’s grunge, there is a Hat out there for everyone. The key is to find the right one for your head, hair, and style. Hats do more than just cover up a bad hair day, they can set off a certain kind of confidence in a person.
There are so many inexpensive choices out there that will enhance your wardrobe. The best part is they can go with multiple outfits, which means you get your moneys worth. A hat can transform a good outfit into a great all around eye catching look. My favorite hats of the moment are anything Fur of course, and the cloche. With the roaring twenties coming back in full swing there is nothing more Gatsby that a Cloche Hat.
If you are a dedicated hat person it might be worth putting the money towards having a milliner make you a hat, but if you’re a girl who loves to follow the hat trends but doesn’t have a ton of money stick with ASOS, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21 for now. Try out all the choices from Classic to Comfy: felt cloche, snap-brim fedora, slouchy felt gaucho, Panaima, aviator/hunter cap, turban, fur, beret, and knits in all shapes and sizes. Be Bold and try one on!

“The New Look” has a new age. In 1947 after the war, Dior made its name by giving women what they wanted, clothes that made them feel like women again! Because fabric no longer had to be rationed for the war the skirts got bigger and the waists got tinnier. This style of dress was dubbed “The New Look” by Harper’s Bazaar.
From the looks of the runways and the red carpets I’d say that good times are ahead! Full skirts and small waists are the way to show off your figure without striping down.
Jessica Alba has been spotted wearing this ultra-femme trend from Paris to Berlin. She looks gorgeous in this Hugo Boss sleeveless checkered dress. By belting this full skirt dress with a gold belt she has taken this dress a notch higher for night.
I found a similar dress from Forever 21 for $24.80. Instead of a checkered pattern this dress has an owl print. It’s not as full as the Hugo Boss version but it will do the trick.

While many of us can not afford Hugo Boss we need other options to keep up with this trend. Check out you local vintage boutiques and try something on with this shape, you might be surprised with what you find. For those who would like something a little fresher, Mod Cloth constantly has this classic look popping up.
Have fun accessorizing these dresses by adding belts and funky shoes to keep it young. In your new throw back outfit you will feel sexy without having to bare it all.

Yay!! I’m soooo happy that it’s finally Spring outside which means its time to invest in some new makeup. I like to keep my make up really soft and simple in the Spring and when it comes to lips, I prefer using only a lip gloss instead of a flat shade of lipstick.
So you can imagine how excited I was when I found this AMAZING deal on lipglosses from Clinique at Sephora!
And check this out, it’s only $25 for 12 different shades! Not too mention they’re the perfect size for “on-the-go” and you can even get this Summer Floral Clutch for FREE! Just enter code FLORALBAG at checkout.

Well she did it again! Lauren Conrad’s line for Kohls is back and better then ever. Her take on California’s laid back style is seen throughout her entire collection. From lightweight jumpsuits to airy and ruffled camisoles are just a few pieces of LC’s fab line.
Though the California bomb-shell made her debut on MTV’s hit T.V show Laguna Beach she proved to all of us she’s one fashion icon and designer that is here to stay!
Though her pieces for this spring are really cute they’re not that original but hey…. who cares right? Lucky for us these LC garments will range anywhere from $20 to $60.
After looking at LC’s collection for Kohls there were countless items I would deffinetly purchase including this “LBlueD”, which retails for $39.99. I really love the color and find it super cute for any summer function, not to mention it totally reminds me of 3.1 Phillip Lim’s yellow mini dress LC wore back in ‘09.
And while you fill your online shopping cart with a few of LC’s Spring pieces don’t forget that Kohls is offering Free Shipping on all orders of $75 or more!

Dear Cheap Chica,
I just received my BCBG Bandage Skirt in royal blue and I don’t know what to wear it! Please help me style an outfit for this awesome skirt!!
Thanks!
Tiffany
Dear Tiffany,
I have to say that your choice in skirts is fabulous and I’m so happy to hear that you chose it in royal blue! The bandage skirt is one of the hottest trends we are seeing this season!
If you’re willing to go bold, my advice is to hit up a primary color and find a unique silhouette like this top from Forever 21. This one is a little on the longer side, but you’ll be tucking it in and I like the contrast of a voluminous top with such a tight fitting skirt.
A top in a bright, attention getting color like yellow combined with your royal blue skirt will make your outfit look new and seriously updated.
Now if you’re looking for something a little safer, choosing a simple black tank can complete your look as well. Celebrities such as Lauren Conrad and Rhianna and have both been spotted in this sleek and sexy look.
In this look here Conrad chooses to accessorize her blue bandage skirt by keeping everything else black…and this definitely allows her skirt to be her main attraction!
When it come to shoes opt for a high pump in any neutral tone for the bright outfit and a black shoe for the simpler look.
The great thing about the bandage skirt is that it’s totally versatile…you can wear this with anything from tanks and tees during the Spring/Summer and with cute leather jackets and your your favorite blazer all year long!

When it comes to makeup there’s one item that never goes out of fashion…mascara! Its been quite some time since we’ve seen Twiggy’s headline making photograph, but one thing remains the same, we all still crave big, beautiful lashes. Luckily, you don’t need a supermodel-size paycheck to get them!
Cover Girl’s LashBlast Mascara is my favorite make-up product for getting gorgeous, full lashes and it retails for less then $8.00! Mascara is one beauty item I never spend money on because there’s really no need when my LashBlast does the same thing a department store mascara will, every time!
Here are a few tips for getting ultra-long full lashes:
Start with your favorite eyeliner and line the upper lid of your lashes. This will allow you to reach the root of your lashes and give your eyes a cleaner look.
Next, you should invest in a eyelash curler that you are comfortable using and curl your upper lashes. Many women tend to skip this part because they don’t want to spend money on something they think they don’t need. For all you women who wish you had larger eyes this is the # 1 trick. Using an eyelash curler will open up your eyes since the lashes are curled and lifted away from the eye.
Last but not least, add the mascara! This is your most important step. Remember to always start from the root of your lashes and stroke upward. I also like to wiggle the brush as I go up to make sure I’m coating each lash. One to two coats usually does the trick but if you feel like you need more, no one is stopping you! This is another reason I love the LashBlast formula…it’s thin so it’s optimized for layering and it never gets clumpy or sticky.
And if you have short, sparse lashes, there’s nothing wrong with adding a few fake lashes to enhance your eyes, but I suggest you go for the individual ones and not the full sets. BTW, You can pick these up for only $13 at most department stores and they last for multiple applications since you’re only using a few at a time!
So… what’s the final step into letting you lashes be your statement look of the night? Keep your foundation soft, your cheeks warm and always, always stay in the nude tones when it comes to your lips. Simple lips and strong eyes will always be on trend!

Before yall freak out, let me point out that I’m using this pic as my DON’T image. I’ve gotten so many emails asking for ideas on how to incorporate the whole “bold shoulder” trend in a more moderate, and wearable way so here goes…
Let me start by saying that shoulders like the ones pictured here are best left on the runway or the football field. This look isn’t flattering on anyone and some celebs (I’m talking to you Gaga, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian!!) have really taken this too far.
I get wanting to look and feel fashion forward on stage, but wearing this trend in your day to day life shouldn’t require you looking like you rented some sort of mid-evil costume.
The key to this look is all about moderation…and proportion. If you don’t want to do the whole Dynasty shoulder pad thing, opt for shoulder details instead of a big, all out shoulder pad. This top from Lulu’s is the perfect way to incorporate this trend without looking like a total fashion victim.
I love that it’s done in classic black and white and whether you pair it with a simple black mini skirt or dark skinny jeans, the result is a look that’s fashion forward without being overly dramatic.
There are a ton of options (see below) if you’re looking for a cute top or even a great cardigan that incorporates some kind of shoulder detail, but lately I’ve been gravitating towards dresses with a little extra “umph” in the shoulder department!
I fell completely in love with this cobalt blue number from ASOS. Like the top, it doesn’t require any added bulk around the shoulders…instead it adds emphasis on the shoulder with sequin details.
However, if you are willing to experiment with a little extra padding this dress from Forever 21 for only $22.80 is TDF! I wore it last week for an event in NYC and got countless compliments. It might come off a little “gladiatorish” at first sight, but even on a super petite frame like mine, it totally works!
Here are my boldest picks for under $50:

I have countless fashion magazines that I love reading but Harper’s Bazaar is one of my top faves! I recently purchased the new issue and to no surprise it was covered in Twilight.
I’m shocked at how many people are totally obsessed with it. I have to admit, I’ve never read the books and thought the movie wasn’t as great as everyone made it out to be, but in this issue of Bazaar, Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson looked amazingly chic in a very Gothic romance kind of way…not to mention, sexier then ever! Great job by the stylist and photographer and BTW, they are TOTALLY dating!
If you’re anything like me you probably agree that the lovely Bella desperately needs a personal stylist. I understand that the tom-boyish style is sort of her thang, but let me tell ya… it doesn’t work so well on the red carpet. She always looks like she’s not quite sure of herself and looks so out of place, clothing wise, at some of these celebrity events.
But in this Winter issue she sports countless pieces that are TDF! From Alexander Wang’s mini LBD to Versace’s seductive black gown…these are looks that will make you say WOW!
So for all you Twilight fans who’ve already seen New Moon, pick up an issue of Bazaar because this is one spread you’ll be wanting to get your hands on!

Not that you need more reasons to love Forever 21…
but what I love most about them is that they cover all their bases. Some stores are a little too heavy on the “going out” clothes, but whenever I walk into F21, I always take notice of how well each one of their “lifestyle” sections is stocked. They strike a nice balance between work and play clothes and for someone like me, who has a tendency to overshop for dressier items, this really helps.
Lately, I’ve really made an effort to even out my purchases so that if I buy one casual dress, I have to buy one dress that I can wear to work….and so forth. And while that might sound expensive, with all of these adorable options priced under $30 it makes shopping a whole lot easier and more affordable!
