It’s that time of year…the leaves are back on the trees, flowers are blooming, the temperatures are rising (finally) and you’re in the mood for some new shoes!
Spring always brings with it many, too many reasons to shop and after being buried under sweaters and keeping your feet hidden in wool socks and boots all winter long can you blame us for wanting to show off our new pedi in fabulous footwear?!
Without fail, every Spring I get dozens of emails from readers asking me about the “must-buy” shoe styles for the season so this year I’m rolling them all up into one very affordable package…thanks to my new favorite and highly addictive shoe shopping site, they’re all under $30 bucks!
My favorite style for the season has to be a wedge. It’s the perfect blend of fashion and function! I love when wedges have an organic element like this pair for only $29.99. The braided rope contrasts nicely with the snake and the combo makes them perfect to wear with shorts or a fabulous maxi dress!
Next on your shopping list, a pair of flat sandals…I love my Haviannas, but let’s be honest, they’re rubber and should best be left for the beach and trips to the pool. A flat sandal with a little detail can go a long way. They feel just as good as your flip-flops but they look like you tried way harder…even if you didn’t.

If you’re a frequent reader of this blog, you know that florals are “it” for Spring, but if a floral print is too much for your shoes why not try an actual flower? This pair from MyHotShoes.com is a total steal for $10.99…and at that price you should totally treat yourself to a few colors! My faves are the mint and pink!
And last, but not least…just because it’s hot out doesn’t mean you can wear any old sandal to work. Sometimes a girl needs a great work shoe and there’s no better fool-proof, go-with-anything kind of pump than this nude pump! The bow details makes it feel fresh but still very feminine and whether you’re into Spring’s ultra bright palette or the softer pastels, these go with both effortlessly. Oh and did I mention they’re only $24.99? I recall seeing a Valentino pair very similar to these at Saks for well over $500…
So ladies if you were wondering what shoes to buy this season, wonder no more…these three styles will surely get you through the entire season in style! Happy Shoe Shopping!

As a little girl, Tinkerbell was one of my favorites…she had style, free spirit and an amazing ability to whip the boys in shape. Well, move over Tink, Peter Pan has something on you this spring…a fabulous, eye-catching collar.
Yes, Peter Pan collars, or my less favorite name “Pilgrim Collars,” are a great way to spice up a basic outfit. Drab to fab in an instant! Where the tuxedo shirt was your go to for winter, your Peter Pan shirt will be your go to for spring.
You can go bold with a collar like this one from F21 or to try the trend in a more subtle way, go for a collar in the same color as your blouse like this one from ASOS.
If you are not in the market for another shirt, never fear, dresses with Peter Pan Collars are popping up everywhere…

They can be casual, paired with lady like ballet flats or dressed up with platforms and an oversized cocktail ring.
Whatever look you choose, the Peter Pan collar is a subtle way to add femininity and yes, whimsy, to your look.

For some, the Golden Rule is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, but this spring, when it comes to the Golden Rule, we are talking about shoes, ladies.
Gold, metallic heels have popped up everywhere and now they’ve made their way from the runway (hello YSL) to some of our favorite online retailers.
As a YSL fan, I like my gold sandals very 70’s inspired…think of what you’d wear to Studio 54 in its hey day…like this pair from Seychelles! They’re a total steal for $90 bucks but right now you can save an additional 25% off! Some gold sandals can feel very prom-tastic so a chunkier heel and wooden accents help balance it all out!
Now if you’re looking a little comfort with your gold, you can pick up these very chic and comfortable LAGOON Ballet Flats with a metallic heel for $53.72!
Or what about these sandals by Sam Edelman for $99…the simple black leather straps and pop of gold on the heel make this a must-have sandal for the season.
And sometimes it’s about just a touch of gold, so look for a pair of sandals with a metallic heel like these for some unexpected glam! Remember, the heel is the last thing people see when you walk away and walking away in a pair of golden heels will help you make quite the statement!

With so many of us heading out for Spring Break or a little cold weather get-a-way, I thought it would be fun to spotlight the “local trends” in one of my favorite warm weather destination…Miami!
Miami has so much to offer its locals and visitors. From gorgeous beaches to endless shopping, there is something for everyone. When they aren’t in bikinis, Miami-goers are often found wearing vibrant clothing.
Miami temperatures do drop and it frequently rains in the winter. When the chillier weather hits, a fitted top and jeans are popular choices. Try on a pair of Simply Vera Vera Wang Mixed Media Skinny Jeans with a slimming side panel from Kohl’s. To add a bit of shine to the daytime look, wear crystal-accented Simply Vera Vera Wang flats.
No matter the weather, at night it’s all about a form-fitting dress. Pair with Jennifer Lopez Platform High Heels, and make a bold statement with the Simulated Crystal Necklace from Simply Vera Vera Wang
This look is perfect for dinner at one of Miami’s finest restaurants. Bikini aside, nothing is more essential in Miami than a little white dress. This Embellished Lace Dress from Ronni Nicole can easily transition your look from day to night.
When it comes down to it, the best thing about Miami is Lincoln Road. It’s one of the nicest roads to stroll along and the shops are always open late. This Corey P Floral Pleated Dress is the perfect day-to-night ensemble…and to finish the look, accessorize with a white Apt. 9® Theresa Shopper handbag and nude pumps.

My favorite thing about new seasons? New trends! Even though the summer is sadly coming to a close, I am so excited for fall trends! I loved summer 2011 trends, but I’m so over them…let’s start shopping the Fall 2011 runways!
One of the hottest trends of the Fall 2011 sportswear runways was varsity jackets. Cut more femininely than the one the hunky quarterback from high school wore, but with all the same charm. Runway designers like Rag & Bone, 3.1 Phillip Lim (pictured), and even Givenchy were displaying their take on the sporty style.
Pair your boxy jacket with feminine pieces like these pink pants from Phillip Lim or with lush jewel tones (another fall runway favorite). This comfortable and preppy style works on any body type and you can mix in up with different fabrics and styles.
Designers have been showing these collegiate jackets in everything from leather to houndstooth. Check out Teen Vogue’s slideshow of their favorite funky looks for inspiration.
And with any trend, of course your favorite Cheap Chica stores have their version. Everyone from ASOS to Forever 21 is featuring a spin on this runway favorite for a fraction of the cost.
I adore this Tommy Girl jacket for just $79, but scroll our picks below to find your fall favorite!

Steve Madden Finely Wedge: $39.99
Click it/Skip it: Click it!
Summer is winding down, but its not over yet. These wedges are the perfect item to rejuvenate your wardrobe for the rest of the summer. And they’re so cheap you won’t even feel guilty about wearing them for two months!
Fit: Perfect fit! I love Steve Madden! Their shoes are really well priced for the quality and this pair is no exception. I can wear these for hours without feeling a thing.
I have gotten so many compliments on them and others asking me where I got them. I got mine at DSW, but online you can find them at Journey’s or Zappos (Journey’s is $20 cheaper!).
Shopper’s Notes: I love these shoes in the Natural color I have. They go with everything and have been totally versatile. However, the other day I saw someone wearing them in the Khaki (pictured above) and thought they looked so chic! They looked almost army green, which is a color you can never go wrong with. With so little summer left, I’m sure these will be able to transition into next summer, so wear them while you can and hope next summer comes fast!

Its pretty much a dream come true for any girl in America who loves high fashion on a budget…Zara is introducing E-commerce to the USA on September 7th! And just in time for stocking up on fall’s trendiest pieces!!
For those of you who don’t know about Zara (I’m sure you all do though), in one word it is…A-MAZING! All of their clothes are budget friendly and incredibly on trend each season. The prices are usually about $20-25 more than your average H&M and Forever21 prices, but the quality is nicer too.
Actual brick and mortar stores in America are scarce, my closest Zara is a half hour away (which is pretty lucky actually), but now fashionistas from all over the country will finally be able to indulge in the European gem with a click of a mouse.
And bonus! We will now be able to feature some our most favorite pieces from every season on the blog, because they will be finally be able to accessible online. Check out their website now to see their fall line and prices and then start your wishlists girls, because as soon as it launches, I’m sure, everything will disappear fast.

I’m having a bit of a moment right now…and while I’m usually very excited to be excited about something new, this kind of moment is the kind that can cost me a lot of money and a lot of regret. I’m a devoted ShopStyle user (and you should be too) but lately they’re really getting me with their “Editor’s Picks” like these rose gold Brian Atwood pumps. OMG. I die. MUST HAVE.
I need them like a plant needs water and since my husband might just kill me if I bring home another pair of shoes (and divorce me when he finds out how much), I need to find a way to get my rose gold fix without actually buying them…bring in the accessories!
Rose gold happens to be oh-so hot right now so there’s plenty to choose from and just like the shoes, accessories are a great way to get what you’re craving without having to hide your credit card bills. I was convinced that a bold ring, a chunky necklace or an oversized watch watch in rose could all make that same statement and add some serious luxe to my look…so I was on a mission to find the perfect piece when I came across this Kenneth Cole watch.
It’s the perfect combo of sporty and stylish all at once and since it’s so different from my everyday stainless watch, I knew it was something that would make my day feel fresh and new. I love the weight of it and the fact that it doesn’t feel chintzy…the white against the rose gold feels so modern and I love the simplicity of the face. If you’re looking to add a new watch to your collection, this is one I definitely recommend! And in case a rose gold watch isn’t quite your style, check out these other options that help ease the pain of not getting these Brian Atwood shoes!

It’s not a mini and it’s not a maxi, the perfect way to head into fall is the midi. As an avid fan of Mad Men (are you a Betty or a Joan?) and after swooning over the Louis Vuitton midi-looks on the Paris runway, I could not be more excited for this trend–consider it a Draper-way of dressing and who doesn’t love that? And while this new trend comes with less worries of wardrobe malfunctions than a mini it needs a little more know-how to pull it off just right!

From the runways of Louis Vuitton to the high street, this trend offers so many options. It can be worn in the office, to a dinner date or you could even try a more casual variation for errands or day of shopping. Here are some ways to take the midi to the maximum level!
Height vs Length: The taller you are, the longer you can go. Mid calf and/or A-line skirts are best left for those gams over 5’5”. For those of us 5’4” and under, lets stick to the just below the knee length (and don’t forget your heels!).
Color Block It: Pair a bright red midi with a neutral top. Or try a black leather midi with a silky neon tank to add texture and fun to your ensemble. Stick to nude shoes with this look to lengthen those legs and leave the attention on the outfit.
An Office Fashion: Take it to work a’ la Mad Men style. Think tailored, A-line black or navy skirts with simple white tops and make it into your own uniform. A neutral canvas of colors with some bright and bold accessories or a colored cardigan is an easy way to amp up your office style this fall.
Fit or Flow: A fitted cotton midi and a loose crop top is not only comfortable but on trend for a day or running errands or shopping with the girls. If you choose to let it flow on the bottom like this skirt, go opposite on top and go for a fitted tee or tank. Throw on a leather jacket and make it a go-to date night look.
