Eye shadow application can be more fun to apply when you have the correct textures, colors and TOOLS to make it all come together! Think of your shadow as an accessory to do one of two things- either enhance or correct.
Marry your textures when applying…for example, use crème shadow on to top of a clean lid and powdered textures on top of a powdered lid. This way you’ll achieve better payoff when all is said and done!
When using a light, crème corrector- like Laura Mercier Eye Basics- use your fingers to blend on a clean lid.
When using a base shadow use a fuller, softer brush that blends the color all over. Try Sephora’s Retractable All Over Shadow Brush #19. The soft hairs lay product evenly all over the eye prevent depositing too much of a light color in one spot and instead create a wash of light to open the eye.
Pro Tip: Press shadow on back of hand first- this will deposit residual product that would otherwise end up sprinkled on your cheek!
You’ll never look as good as you do today…

During my recent trip to Cairo I stayed at the most amazing hotel and I stopped by their Spa to check out the services and one in particular caught my eye…the lavender body scrub! I totally needed something like this because my skin feels so dry and in major need of some serious exfoliation, but when I got a peek at their prices for the service, I immediately walked out!
Thankfully, upon my return home, I had a jar of Nettie Lavender Scrub waiting for me so I treated myself to a “home spa” night and the results were fantastic!! The scrub smelled incredible and it was chock full of nourishing vitamins, antioxidants and moisturizing fruit oils so it left my skin baby soft and smooth! And the smell….oh the smell! The only real downside for me was that it didn’t come with a scooper…I hate putting my wet hands in the jar because I feel like it dilutes the oils.
Considering the hotel wanted to charge me over $100 for this treatment, I saved myself $88 by using the Nettie Scrub instead, which is only $12!
Exfoliating is one of the best and easiset thing you can do for your face and body so try out a jar in one of four great scents! It’s also made of 100% all-natural ingredients with reusuable packaging so it’s not only good for you, but also for the environment!

I’m a total lip gloss junkie…I love having an excess of lip gloss in my make up bag, in my car, in my purse, etc! I usually don’t spend more than $5 at the drugstore for my gloss, but I can’t say that I’m not tempted. Stores like Sephora make it really hard to not splurge, espeically when they carry some of the the prettiest shades in super-cute pacakging like these!
My BFF turned me on to these Stila lip glazes a while ago when I was living in New York and I totall stole hers (sorrry Melis!) but I could never bring myself to buy a new one becuase of the hefty price tag. I loved the easy application along with the totally smooth (and not sticky) texture. Well I guess Sephora heard my pleas because they now offer this incredible set of Stila Lip Glazes for only $22! If you do the math, that comes to only $3.60 per gloss and you gotta love that!
