Want But Can't Have
by cheapchica11 on April 6, 2009

I posted this briefly in my Best Buys section, but I took it down because I wanted to give it the attention and post it deserved!
It’s not like Bib Necklaces are breaking news or anything, but when one comes along that’s this beautiful, unique, and budget friendly you just have to stop and pay attention!
This magnificent piece of jewelry is made of bone and glass and it’s from Anthropologie so you know the beads won’t break and the clasp won’t give out on you after just a few wears. I couldn’t imagine a more appropriate accessory to help glam up anything and everything in your closet and for only $24.95 it’s a very affordable investment in style!

I just came across this adorable bandeau bikini from Marc by Marc Jacobs that’s way too expensive for less than one yard of spandex, but that doesn’t change the fact that I totally want it!! I love the ruffles and what girl doesn’t need a white bikini? And sorry for all the vacation/beach wear posts, but I’m totally in that mindset right now!

Um, does anyone have any DIY ideas on this one?? I’m totally in looooooove with this necklace…but not so much the price!
I’m very into the bib necklace, but I’ve been searching high and low for one that wasn’t covered in huge rhinestones…I just feel like I could get more use out of something like that. I can totally see myself wearing this necklace with a simple white tank, some gray skinny jeans and my favorite thrift store find, a little boys blazer in Navy that I bought for $2.80!

I know we’re in a recession and posting about $6,295 Christian Louboutin shoes doesn’t really make sense, but sometimes you need something to inspire you and get you through a rough day, and today for me, it’s these shoes.
Louboutin has teamed up with world-renowned embroiderer Jean-Francois Lesage, to create an extremely limited edition Marie Antoinette-inspired shoe collection and it’s beyond words. The shoes are only available in three colours—pink, yellow, and blue—and each shoe is covered with intricate lace and exquisitely embroidered flowers. The ankle strap even features a mini-pompadour wig as a nod to the Queen herself!! Only 36 pairs will be put into production and each pair will be stamped with a limited-edition number, a specially designed box along with a book illustrating the collaboration process. I DIE!

I can’t live without my MAC which is why I love my Macbook…it’s lightweight, does everything my desktop can, and even though it’s not the shiny new silver one, I still love it and honestly…I’m partial to the old school white ones!!
With such a sleek and stylish laptop, I can’t be expected to put it into one of those dorky, computer cases that they sell at Office Depot, so I’ve been searching for just the right case to carry my laptop in. I saw this Goyard case in the January issue of Vogue and instantly fell in loooooooove, but the $830 price tag killed my crush.
Maybe one day if I ever become the CEO of some important TBD company I’ll reward myself with something this extravagant, but until then, I think something equally as stylish and much more budget-friendly, like this fab faux-croco one will have to do!

Leave it to sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the women behind Rodarte to show us some of the boldest and most daring footwear to ever be seen during any New York Fashion week! This kind of footwear/hoisery (?) is something I would expect to see at the couture shows in Paris but these girls never fail to bring it and I’m dying over these thigh-high, leather, bondage, multi-strapped, creations! I doubt they will ever acutally make it into production, but they’re inspiring and over the top and isn’t that what Fashion Week is all about anyway??

Um, yes please…I’ll take all of them…and especially that claw cuff! Her pieces were not only featured in the New York Times, countless editorials, and in a recent slew of Gap ads (adorning the wrist and ears of Carine Roitfield’s daughter), but they were also spotted this weekend on the runway at the Yigal Azrouel show!!!

So this bag isn’t even out yet and MKO is already carrying it!! I hate her…no I actually heart her and I’m just being a green little monster.
Anyway, this studded masterpiece is from Wang’s upcoming Fall collection so I expect to see many other fabulous accessories during his “presentation” next week!!

These totally put me in the mood for Valentine’s Day…the signature red Louboutin sole combined with that Barbie pink bootie…perfection! BTW, can you spot these elsewhere on the site??

I became a huge fan of Thread when I was looking for un-bridesmaid looking dresses for my wedding last year. I wanted something that was pretty and that my girls could easily wear again…not to mention, something that reflected their own personal style. I looked high and low for designs that were wearable, flattering, beautiful and most importantly, fashion forward, but the only company I found that actually fit the bill was Thread.
I was in their shop and I remember coming across dresses that would have been perfect for my rehearsal dinner and wishing they made dresses for non-bridesmaids…well, the girls behind the company were already way ahead of me. In 2006, Melissa Akey and Beth Blake launched a collection of RTW dresses called Thread Social and I was completely smitten! I love that they design with a woman in mind and that I can wear all of their dresses to ANY event and feel like the belle of the ball…too bad I can only afford their designs at sample sale prices, but that doesn’t change the fact that I eagerly anticipate seeing their latest collection!
Here’s the latest installment from Thread Social for Spring 2009:
