There’s a few things I absolutely LOVE about traveling…seeing new places, meeting new people, eating new foods and sharing all of that with my wonderful travel partner-in-crime, my hubby! But one of the things I hate is being away from all of my stuff. I have a horrible problem of over-packing in both the beauty and fashion departments so on this trip, I decided to pay particular attention to the items that kept making repeat appearances throughout my 12 day journey. I didn’t want y’all to think I had gone away for good! I’m just on a much needed vacation in Dubai celebrating what is so far an incredible year!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Holiday and that your 2012 is off to an amazing start! Dubai is beautiful and I can’t believe my time here is so close to ending…the only downside, the internet is terribly slow!
But no need to worry, we’ll be back to our regular posting schedule this weekend! Happy New Year!
If you’re a regular reader, you know that in October I had the opportunity to join ten other fashion bloggers in Barcelona for a fun filled trip to the MNG by MANGO headquarters. We spent our days learning more about this amazing brand, sightseeing, eating and we all had the chance to be a part of a fabulous photo shoot.
Here’s a shot of me getting prepped for my photo (btw, I hate having my picture taken!) and if you’re wondering what I’m wearing I went for a winter-chic look in a MNG by MANGO sweater, leggings and boots…love those boots!
But the goal of the day was to get all of us in one glamorous group photo and I think we accomplished that…

This recent look from fashion goddess SJP has gotten very mixed reviews but I have to say, I am loving it! I think it is just the right amount of wrong to make it interesting, you know what I mean?
This is the answer to the SAT question, “What is the opposite of the LBD?” There is something about the bold combo usually reserved for Valentine’s Day that makes it very sophisticated and appealing.
What I love about this outfit is she took a risk with the color and not the cut or style of the pieces. If you go bananas with both style and color, than yes, it’s too much wrong to ever be right! But the easy, clean texture and cut of both the blouse and the pants gives you the laid back kind of vibe.
I have found some great budget friendly options in both of these colors, but with a slightly more doable twist…try wearing these hot pink shoes with a red pant…or why not try a pink dress with a red blazer?
J.Crew along with many other stores have an amazing color palette this Fall, allowing you to create your own fab color combo or stick with the bold pink and red. Remember, if you don’t want to go bold and mix, you can have fun with just one color and kick any outfit up a notch.

Can you imagine how incredible it would be to actually be at Paris Fashion Week. I’ve been watching some of the shows online and while they’ve all been very impressive they saved the best for last. The Louis Vuitton show this morning was pure theatrical magic.
Instead of your “been there done that” catwalk, models floated around a dreamy white carousel showing off the best for Spring 2012. And as if that wasn’t amazing enough, Marc Jacobs had Kate Moss end the show. Pure Parisisan Perfection (well, with the help of a Brit and an American!)
Inspired by all of this French fashion, here’s my take on one of the most classically French patterns…stripes! I decided to add a little sass to this MNG by MANGO collectionneck tie sweater by mixing it with a striped midi-skirt, some very Chanel-esque heels and ladylike gloves.
This is the kind of outfit I’d love to wear sitting outside a cafe people watching and feasting on pastry after pastry…thank goodness for stretchy but chic fabrics, right? So…how would you style your stripes?

When I think of London, a few style icons come to mind…Sienna Miller, Kate Middleton, Alexa Chung…but they don’t quite live up to who I consider the ultimate stylish Brit…Kate Moss. Over the years, we’ve seen her grow up both professionally and personally and now I think she’s really hitting her style stride.
So for my London challenge, I choose this boho-chic peasant blouse from MNG by MANGO to build my Kate Moss-inspired look around. I love the whimsical print and the ruffle details…and I knew this would be the perfect blouse to wear with wide-leg jeans, super high platforms and of course, loads of beaded necklaces to finish off the look.
