Its Finally Here! (almost) Zara E-Commerce

by Monica on August 12, 2011

Its pretty much a dream come true for any girl in America who loves high fashion on a budget…Zara is introducing E-commerce to the USA on September 7th! And just in time for stocking up on fall’s trendiest pieces!!

For those of you who don’t know about Zara (I’m sure you all do though), in one word it is…A-MAZING! All of their clothes are budget friendly and incredibly on trend each season. The prices are usually about $20-25 more than your average H&M and Forever21 prices, but the quality is nicer too.

Actual brick and mortar stores in America are scarce, my closest Zara is a half hour away (which is pretty lucky actually), but now fashionistas from all over the country will finally be able to indulge in the European gem with a click of a mouse.

And bonus! We will now be able to feature some our most favorite pieces from every season on the blog, because they will be finally be able to accessible online. Check out their website now to see their fall line and prices and  then start your wishlists girls, because as soon as it launches, I’m sure, everything will disappear fast.

Missoni for the Masses…

by Ann Whitbeck on July 25, 2011

In the world of fashion, the Missoni family is the royal family…I used to visit their boutique inside Harvey Nichols weekly, coveting anything and everything that came out of their fashion house. They are masters at color, knit, and print. They put the
chique in boho, the glam in hippie. Yet I have never had an occasion that warranted dropping $800 plus on a dress. And it seems that every time I found a dress that almost, kind of compared , well it just looked cheap. And I mean cheap in the bad
way, not in the good way!

But a recent trip to Forever21 had me singing another tune about the almost-but-not-quite Missoni look-alikes. Buy these knitted tops now and pair them with your favorite jean shorts or maxi skirt. And in a couple of months, they are sure to be Fall staples. How cute is this one shouldered top?

Now for those of you with spending will power, consider this your Save the Date. Missoni is pairing with Target this Fall to do a 400 piece line of adult and children’s clothes, home décor…even a bike!!! Holy @#$%!!! Someone is going to have to keep me from buying every single item. Don’t laugh. I’m. Very. Serious. This is the Target event to top all Target events. I know, I say that every time but this time I mean it.

I will be camping out for days before the September 13th release. Again, I’m very serious. Last spring we had Wills and Kate’s Royal Wedding this Fall we have the divine marriage between Missoni and Target. Bring on the fanfare!!!

Sneek Peek: H&M Spring/Summer 2011

by Monica on March 7, 2011

H&M Spring/Summer 2011 is really inspiring me to go on a shopping spree. This spring’s collection is all about the groovy eras of the 60s/70s. Some of the highlights of the collection…a ton of color (like pink, poppy, orange), funky prints, color blocking, and bohemian silhouettes.

So what will I be grabbing?? I’m going to start my spree with shift dresses, camel blazers, and anything and everything printed! And perhaps the best part of this collection is the price…I love that H&M is featuring so many high fashion inspired pieces at such an affordable cost.

This entire collection is definitely CheapChica approved…for example, this boldly printed dress is just $69.95 and the color blocked heels are $79.95. As always everything is affordable, maxi dresses will be priced around $60-$70, blazers for as low as $34.95 and pick up a pair of classic cropped trousers in black for $60!!!

Check out the whole collection here…but save some room for these pieces in your spring shopping! Some pieces are in stores now but the full collection won’t be available until mid-April.

by Monica on March 5, 2011

Target lovers rejoice! Target is celebrating the 5th anniversary of their GO International Designer Collective. by re-releasing 34 of their best-selling looks from past designer collaborations. Designers such as Erin Fetherston (first two above), Tracy Feith (second two above), Zac Posen, and Tucker to name a few will be a part of the fashion celebration! This is your second chance to pick up some of these coveted designer pieces!

I love the dresses pictured above…perfectly girly and flirty for spring. I’m excited for the return of the Tucker looks…the good stuff flew off the shelves and that Navy shift dress will be a great staple for spring and did I forget to mention that everyone of these dresses is priced under $50! Click here to browse the entire collection.

The 34 dresses will be available on March 13th at Target.com and in store until April 10th…but only until supplies last. Get to Target fast…I’m sure, like the first round, these dresses will be flying out of the stores instantly.

Store Spotlight: Stella & Dot

by Monica on December 12, 2010

Inspired by the classic Tupperware party, Stella & Dot uses women to sell their jewelry at home and online. They have been around for a few years now and have been featured in mags In Style, Lucky, and even Oprah. With reasonable prices…check out the under $50 section…everything on their website is trendy and beautiful and perfect for someone on you gift list!

Celebrities like Jennifer Love Hewitt and Debra Messing have been loving these styles.  Their website features necklaces, charms, earrings, bracelets, rings, and even a line for little girls!

They have it all…looks that are bold and chunky to delicate and casual. I have my eye on this colorful set of wrap bracelets and this ring for upcoming holiday events.

With the holiday rush just around the corner, beat the crowds and shop Stella & Dot’s Holiday Gift Guide. They have handpicked some of their best looks for your mom, sister, grandma, daughter, best friend, and everyone in between! Bonus: They feature free gift packaging with every order!

I will be shopping the under $50 section for some chic holiday gifts. Seriously, they make holiday shopping a cinch! I’m sure you will be adding multiple items to your holiday wishlist.

PS: If you’re interested you can sign up to be a stylist and host a trunk show. But, I think I will stick with browsing online. ;)

Jessica Stam for Rachel Rachel Roy

by cheapchica11 on October 8, 2010

No two names could make me happier, and when you put them together I just get giddy!

Jessica Stam is my favorite model, one of the reasons being she’s not just in the pages of Vogue, she is also in campaigns for Aldo and H&M.

Rachel Roy is one of my favorite designers. She really understands how real women want to dress: fashionably but realistic. I’m already so grateful to Rachel for collaborating with Macy’s to create the reasonably priced and extremely beautiful line Rachel Rachel Roy, but adding Jessica Stam to the bill has made me ecstatic!!

Jessica Stam and Rachel Roy have collaborated on a small 4 piece collection for the Rachel Rachel Roy collection available at Macy’s. This is a limited time collection so you must act fast!

The official launch is later this month, but if you go to the Rachel Roy website you can pre-order the pieces now.

The four pieces come together to create the perfect outfit, all worthy of Jessica Stam! The first piece is my favorite The Stam Cardi, at $99 it’s not cheap but it’s totally worth it because you can wear it with everything dressed up or down.

Next is The Stam Pant $89, black super stretch skinny jean that are super edgy and sleek all at the same time. Then of course we need accessories to finish every look, The Stam Belt $49 and The Stam Bucket Bag $199, which I am completely in love with! The bucket bag is definitely going to be the new must have bag of the season.

The idea behind only having these four pieces is to buy them all which I think is a great idea if you have the money, but who does these days?! For those of us who don’t have the money I say invest in one item that really speaks to you…all of these are pieces you  won’t regret having in your closet.

And since the collection is being sold at Macy’s, wait for one of their amazing sales to double up on those promos making this collection even more affordable.  Thank you ladies for your collaboration, I couldn’t be more pleased!

Introducing…GapBodyFit

by Monica on September 26, 2010

I have been a long time lover of all things Gapbody. They have great quality bras (love the “favorite t-shirt bra”!!) at reasonable price points and the softest sleepwear and robes ever! I love going into a Gapbody store because they always have great sales!

Recently, Gapbody has released their newest line, Gapbodyfit! After what I’ve seen online I know I am gonna love this one. All of their stuff looks super cute and comfortable and while the selection is comparable to Lululemon (which I love), this stuff is half the price.

This line doesn’t feature the signature brights that Lululemon fans are used to, but I’ll give up some color for these prices!

You’ll find great work out pants…my favorites are  the gFast legging and the gFlex pant…great sweatshirts, tanks with built in support, and this super cute windbreaker! While I am not in love with their shorts collection, as the line matures I am sure there will be more selection to come.

Explore the site, and even if you can’t get to a Gapbody store to check these amazing finds out I would recommend exploring the store online!

Grand Opening…J.Crew Factory Store ONLINE!

by Monica on September 18, 2010

This weekend is the Grand Opening of the J.Crew Factory store online!! A weekend only store…opens Friday at midnight and closes at midnight on Sunday…J.Crew will be featuring a virtual outlet on their website. The clothes are made solely for the outlet…factory versions which tend to be of lesser quality than the regular store but still great finds!

I love this feature, I have been a shopper of the J.Crew outlet for years. However, taking multiple trips a year 40 minutes away to update my wardrobe each season with fantastic J.Crew essentials can get a bit tiring. But now J.Crew has put everything on the web so anyone from anywhere can join in on the fantastic deals!

They feature a Men’s and Women’s shop. Most of the clothing are versions of the most popular items currently in the store. They are updated for the current season, so you won’t being shopping last season’s rejects!

To tell you the truth I probably have something from every category of the Factory Store in my closet. However, my favorite items to stock up on at the factory store are their cardigans and sweaters, jeans (for about $45!), and jewelery/headbands.

So act FAST! This items are only for sale on the weekends only, and if they go they’re gone! It’s unclear if this is a permanent addition to their online store so I would take advantage of this while you can!

Shopping note: Items ordered from the Factory Store Online can only be returned via mail or to a standing Factory outlet.

Emmy Red Carpet Re-Cap

by cheapchica11 on August 30, 2010

Let me just start this post by saying that I found most of the fashions last night totally underwhelming…it’s like all the celebs are terrified of Joan’s sharp tongue and her new show on E!…anyway, let’s get to “BEST” first and I use that word lightly…

I didn’t even know who Jennifer Carpenter was before tonight, but I’m now a huge fan! That dress is TDF and while the one shoulder trend has been done a million times on the red carpet, I’ve never seen it done in full on sequins and with a long-sleeve! So very sexy yet totally understated!  As a huge fan of GLEE, no one on that show can do any wrong in my book but Lea Michele you need to EAT!  She’s beautiful in her Oscar de la Renta gown but she looks like she’s lost way too much weight!  I haven’t liked Claire Danes since My So Called Life, but I love this dress…clearly I’m totally having a sequins moment!

Now for the bad… [click to continue...]
