Deal of The Week: Huaraches

by cheapchica11 on April 30, 2013

I’m off to Miami for work this week and I can’t think of a more appropriate shoe to take both on and off the beach! Growing up in Texas, a new pair of huaraches (pronounced wah-rah-ches) always signified the start of the summer for me and while my old leather ones looked more like this, I love the makeover Crocs gave this new style courtesy of some serious comfort and color!

Everyday Can Be Saturday!

by Alyssa DiSabatino on April 20, 2013

I am extremely happy (and ecstatic!) to report that Kate Spade developed a new line that is not only incredibly chic, but ultimately cheap (50% less, to be exact)…and absolutely perfect for this working girl! The new collection, most appropriately named Saturday, is a mix of clothing, accessories, handbags, and home decor that are “meant to capture the spirit of Saturday every day of the week”.

Saturday has several collections within the line that have a little something for everyone.  The basic styles stay the same, (a shell top, sheath dress, skinny pants) but the prints change from collection to collection.  And with prices ranging from only $20-$200 for the Kate Spade name…who can complain about that!?

The best part about this line… mixing the collections together! I’m loving the look of a striped tee paired back to colorfully, printed skirt…and this outfiit gives a fresh, new update to your Spring/Summer wardrobe. Finish off your look with a fabulous, bright bag and some circle sunnies and you are set for your day at work or night out with friends!

And, make sure you don’t forget about the extras! Adorable gift ideas like phone cases, jewelry, shoes, and home décor (including mugs, plates, pillows, magnets…and did I mention pencils!) help this line stand out from the rest.  They even have a section where you can custom design your own weekender bag!

Kate Spade’s Saturday offers all the exciting newness we crave without the designer’s expensive price tag. Fun colors, bold prints, and the hottest new silhouettes put this website at the very top of our shopping list.  So forget the “Monday (and Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday) Blues” and spruce up everyday with little bit of Saturday!

Deal of the Week: Stud-ly Booties

by admin on November 7, 2012

Two things I can’t get enough of: ankle boots and subtle detail. Ankle boots make up the majority of shoes in my closet; they’re so versatile and easy to dress up or down no matter what the season. They look great with jeans, shorts, dresses, and pencil skirts so when I spotted this ankle boot with a bit of stud embellishment on the heel, they were definitely coming home with me!

I own countless pairs of the booties (which all look similar), yet none look anything quite like these!

These also come in a grey faux suede with silver studs or in sleek black with gold studded detail as pictured here. The opportunities with this pair of shoes are endless and for $34.80 these boots are a super style deal!

Well Coated (Denim)

by cheapchica11 on September 25, 2012

The leather invasion has begun! While this trend is a great addition to your wardrobe, it isn’t exactly a great fit for your budget so a fabulous alternative to this pricey statement is coated skinny denim. They have all of the edginess of a chic leather pant, without the price tag (or the dry cleaning bill)!

Slightly different from the printed/textured/colored pant trend, the leather pant (or in our CheapChicas case, the coated pant) trend has always been a true classic.  It never goes out of style and can be worn in so many different ways. Pair it with a basic blazer and pumps to achieve a slightly edgy, yet classic outfit.  Or if you’re looking for more of a statement, strut your stuff in black on black head-to-toe.

Coated denim is also great transitional piece… you can wear it now with a sleeveless shell and later with a slouchy sweater. This pair of Coated Skinnies from Forever 21 is the ultimate budget buy for under $23! Now if you want to spend a little more, Zara offers a version with zipper details that’s super chic and under $80!

And no matter which pair suits your style best, the options are endless.

Deal of the Week: The Studded Tote

by Ann Whitbeck on September 10, 2012

When I’m on the hung for a handbag, it’s usually an investment piece I’ve been lusting after for quite some time.  This season, for me, a roomy leather tote is worth the expense when it’s a great quality and has the structure I’m looking for.

On a recent trip to Forever 21, a certain handbag caught my eye. I’m a firm believer in purchasing investment pieces and getting your money’s worth with our favorite “cost per use”…but there was just something about this tote that had me re-visiting it online when I got home.

Maybe it was how rich the bag looked compared to others or maybe it was it’s similarity to the $1895 Valentino Rockstud Shopping Tote that I’ve been lusting after.

Either way, I decided this F21 tote is a great substitute….all the attitude without the high expense since this bag cashes in for only $33! A perfect combination of style and function, the roomy tote is just the right size for carrying a laptop or commuting to the office.  It can also be a great piece that can help transition any outfit from day to night, so make sure you run out and get yours today!
