With the holidays right around the corner, I’m calling out one of my favorite fashion “dont’s” that is now a total “do”! I am talking about our a major Fall/Winter staple, the Fair Isle Printed sweater! A type of sweater knitted with a colored pattern in a traditional design originating in Scotland, to be exact!
Intricately sewn and combining numerous yummy colors all in one, sweaters like this one from Old Navy for $29 can go from office to weekend with little to no effort. I also love this one from TopShop for $85 (the print also comes in a skirt!!). I also love the look of a sharp button down shirt, a FairIsle sweater, skinny jeans and pointed toe pumps…sheer, laid-back, and sexy!!
For the office, pair this sweater from Madewell with a pencil skirt and be set for a comfy yet refined office look. If you want to incoorperate this look on a smaller scale, knitted hats, gloves and scarves in FairIsle prints are popping up everywhere from F21 to Zara…and yes, even Aldo!
For work or play and everything in between, your Fair Isle sweater is sure to be your new best friend!!
