CheapChica’s Guide to Style — The CheapChica's Guide to Style

Duck, Duck…

by cheapchica11 on October 31, 2012

Despite the Texas roots I’m not much of a country girl. I’ve been camping once (on a dare) and while my very outdoorsy husband claims that the sheer beauty of Yosemite will make me forget I’m sleeping in a bag on the ground with bugs, I’m skeptical.

The one thing I actually do like about the outdoors is the “fashion”…I love over-sized cozy fishermen sweaters, cashmere leggings, hats, scarves and all the accessories, my most favorite being the classic duck boot.

Unlike most fashionistas, I embrace “outdoor outfits” – kind of like the guys on Duck Dynasty…well minus the wierd calls and camo head to toe. But trust me, I’m not beyond rocking a pair of camo skinnies! There’s something relaxed and effortless about a cozy bundled up look and duck boots happen to be the piece de resistance!

Over the last few seasons they’ve had a mini-makeover and while over the knee and the high-heeled version Olivia’s wearing in this picture are tempting (while not at all practical) — a classic, all-weather duck boot like this one from Crocs never goes out of style. I love this pair because they’re timeless, lightweight (oh so important for all day wear) and the Sherpa lining adds a touch of luxe to this very sporty and un-me shoe!

So this winter, when the weather starts to get cold and damp and you dread going outside, give your feet a reason to be excited for the great outdoors!
