A Sneaky Sneaker

I don’t typically fret about my weekend wardrobe…in the summer it’s filled with sundresses, cutoffs, loose t’s and sandals. But when my weekend plans call for sightseeing, lots of walking around and little patience about “my feet hurting” from my husband I get totally freaked out.

I’ve said it before, I am not a sneaker girl…not even a Converse girl (although this pic may just change my mind…how cute is the maxi-Converse combo?!) so the idea of wearing anything sporty on my feet immediately conjures up images of college girls in jeans and running shoes and women commuting to work in orthopedic-looking sneakers and skirts. I cringe at the idea of pairing my workout shoes with my wardrobe but with the weekend just two days away, I need to take action…in the form of a skimmer sneaker!

These sneaker- flat hybrids are just what I need to maximize comfort (and let’s be honest, what my hubby calls practicality) but still be true to my style.  I can totally get away with wearing them with shorts and jeans, but even better with casual skirts, maxis and dresses.

This pair from Crocs is available in six colors, but for the most versatility, go with white. There’s an ease and classic appeal to these that will work with just about any outfit. And who doesn’t love easy fashion!?

I can’t wait to wear them with cutoffs at the beach and with my new confetti skirt from American Eagle for a day of touristy sightseeing!   Not only will my husband be happy, so will my feet!
