Deco-rated…a La Blake Lively

How fabulous is this dress on Blake Lively? LOVE IT! She really can do no wrong and did you know she styles herself?

Deco inspired pieces like Blake’s Zuhair Murad dress were all over the runway this season and Gucci takes the cake for the best runway style…their deco-parade had a nod to the history of the trend but with a sexy modern spin.

And so my quest to re-create these looks on a budget begins. The key components…black and gold accents, sharp lines and fringe.

This Zara dress incorporates all of the key elements and it’s only $129…and while it may be a little too early in the season to wear, buy it NOW.  It won’t be around come fall and you’ll be mad if you don’t!

Dressing for a wedding, graduation, or a festive night has never been so fun! With this kind of statement piece make sure to keep your accessories minimal and let the dress do the talking. A pair of ankle strap heels compliments the simple lines of the dress and lends itself to the look of that era without feeling to “costume-y”.  And on that note, please avoid pearls. You aren’t an extra on the set of The Great Gatsby!

When it comes to beauty, a bold red lip never fails this trend and keep the hair sleek and straight. While I normally love Blake’s tousled waves, for this dress  it just didn’t work for me.
