Cue the warm weather, birds chirping, and most importantly the sunshine…Spring has finally made an entrance! This season, the term “sundress” takes literal meaning, as yellow becomes Spring’s official neutral.
Elizabeth Olsen, Heidi Klum, and Vanessa Hudgens are just a few celebs that have been spotted sporting the sassy shade. And while many of us fear yellow this time of year (pre-sun) — you don’t need a tan to pull off this formerly hard to wear color because there’s a shade out there for everyone. If you’re on the pale side, embrace your skin tone and look for softer, more pastel shades…think butter. Now if you’re more olive toned, look for a bright yellow that will give you skin an instant glow!
When it comes to styling, I say keep it simple. Try a nude strappy sandal with dresses that have a more bohemian feel like this one…or you can even go office-chic in this dress from Loehmans’ for only $39 by pairing it with some black pumps like Blake Lively did!
Check out these fabulous selections below to make a bold statement as you step into Spring…because this season, yellow is anything but mellow!

I love these!! But, none of the examples in the Shopstyle window match that lovely flowiness of both examples in the article. And that’s half of what make the dress look so delightful. I just don’t think the color works nearly so nicely in some of the boxier dresses. That chiffony flow really softens the bright pop.
Have you seen any affordable versions that have that same beautiful drape? Would love to see those!
Love, love these dresses!
I wore my yellow sheath dress to the office the other day paired it with red pumps ala Reese Witherspoon (from a year or so ago) I thought it really worked well and kept all accesories gold!
I am a complete sucker for a yellow dress, especially with blond hair and a tan complexion. I think blake looks amazing! I wish I could find a nice silk shirtdress and or shirt/skirt combo like what she’s got.
I find myself looking at yellow lately too!! I love the bright colors that are showing up this season and yellow is the pivotal brightest color. I’m currently looking to find a nice yellow cropped pants for work.
I’m loving the first dress you posted. The pleats and the high-low hemline is a tease right now, just don’t know how long this trend will last. Definately see the pleats lasting but not sure about the high low. Loehmanns is always the way to shop and won’t break the bank~
Love the shoes!!! Any idea where I can find these?
