So now that you have converted, or at least partially accepted the flared jean, I’m sure you’re wondering what kind of shoes am I supposed to wear with these for Fall? After years of tucking skinnies into boots (an obvious non- option with flares) I think we were all at a loss. So I decided to do a little shoe searching and was pleasantly surprised when I found one shoe trend over and over in just about every magazine and fashion site out there…the high heeled loafer. From top designers like Alexander Wang to wallet friendly sites such as Go Jane, I found these shoes everywhere and get ready because you’re about to see them everywhere!
Yes, at first I was skeptical too…a loafer is so professorial and dud-sounding, but the key to this re-fashioned loafer was a chunky heel, over-sized tassels (like these Zara ones pictured) and/or a platform version. These styles totally play up that 70’s vintage vibe that your flared jeans have making it easy to coordinate outfits and look fabulous! Plus, the height will help visually lengthen your legs for an even slimmer look. They can even add a little sex appeal like these patent leather ones…who know loafers were sexy?! And all those midi-skirts out there, well these work perfectly with those as well.
Check out these options budget friendly options and oh yea, pennies are totally optional!

Really? I was just watching Ally McBeal re-runs the other day and thinking about how those shoes were very unattractive.
Also have a pair like the nine west ones at TJ Maxx for $40 right now. Love your site btw!
I just got those zara loafers in the mail. They are awesome, may need to size up though.
