My Fall 2010 Shopping List

by cheapchica11 on September 15, 2010

So while everyone is away at Fashion Week in NYC reporting on the trends you’ll be wearing in Spring 2011, I thought I would focus on the clothes you can wear now!

Shopping for Fall is one of the things I look forward to most.  I gather up all my monthly glossies and make piles of the things that I want for the season…now I don’t actually buy the items in the ads or the features (I’m not a billionaire!!) but they do serve as important inspiration for ID’ing what I really want at the start of the best shopping season.

This year in particular there are some amazing trends out there, but I’ve narrowed it down to the ones that I’m totally obsessing over to help focus your shopping list.  Here they are

LACE: I need it in every incarnation.  It’s the perfect counterpoint to all the military and masculine pieces out there! Lace Top $22 and Lace Skirt $16

GLITTER NAILS: Whether you wear the polish on it’s own or layer it over one of your favorite colors, metallic, glitter-y nails are fun and fabulous for Fall! OPI Lucerne-Tainly Look Marvelous, $7.20

OTK Boots: Do I really need to convince you to try these!? This is the hottest boot of the season and if you don’t have them yet, get them! They’re amazing with leggings, chunky knits, a blazer…everything! I prefer a heel, but they’re just as cute flat! Sam Edelman Sutton Boot, $299 and DV by Dolce Vita Nathan Boot, $180

SHEARLING: I almost shrieked out loud when I saw the Burbery Prorsum campaign featuring their Shearling Aviator!  The jacket is quite possibly the most amazing thing I have ever seen but with a $3000 price tag, that’s NEVER going to happen! This jacket from Aqua is such a great option and I love that shearling is finally fitted–not big and bulky! Aqua Faux Shearling Motorcycle Jacket $198

FUR: Now I’m not going to get into some heated debate about this…so whether it’s FAUX or FUR, this season you have to own something furry! I’m too petite to rock a full fur jacket so I’ve opted for a vest instead! You’ll also get much more wear out of this piece than a coat and it’s an easy way to make everything in your closet look super glamorous! BB Dakota Faux Fur Vest $90

SEQUINS: If I could come back as a disco diva from the 1970’s I would, so the fact that sequins are everywhere are making this season so much fun! I love them for daytime–worn with really causal pieces like sweatshirts and jeans!  And of course I’ve never met a a full on sequin mini that I didn’t like! French Connection Princess Dress $90

OMG. Sequins and glitter! I’m so glad glam has made a comeback! Between that and equestrian chic, I’m pretty stoked on this Fall’s trends! PS can Sam Edelman come up with any cuter stuff? Loves.

I have glitter on my nails already! An OPI gold one – I always, always, forget the names unless I save them in my phone. Great roundup, as usual.

OMG! I definitely need these in my life. Also, jewel-toned garments. Rubies and emeralds and amethysts and sapphires are so IN right now.

I love the darker boots! I wish they weren’t so expensive
