The New “Moto Jean” — The CheapChica's Guide to Style

The New “Moto Jean”

by Ann Whitbeck on September 3, 2010

For those of you who haven’t jumped on the motor cross/biker jean trend, I can relate, but I am telling you now, make it happen. I finally broke down the other day and tried on a pair of these at Express and I have to say, I am a convert. They are super flattering and so versatile!

They can easily jump from Glam Rock, Hippie chique to total bad-ass with the simple change of a top, shoes and the right accessories. And did I mention, contrary to all I know about embellished jeans, these are totally flattering!

Yes, ladies, my summer slim down did not go quite as planned so my focus for Fall is items that nip/tuck and slim/trim. You can also look for a pair with a slightly darker wash, like these from Alloy for just $23!!

For an added slimming affect, be sure the stitching overall diagonal enough to draw the eye down, not across adding bulk. I just read an article that stated American women own an average of 7 pairs of jeans. Uh, can you say fashion rut? Why not make at least one of those pairs a little edgy?

Check out some of these budget friendly pairs that will kick your jean real-estate up a notch…

A question totally unrelated to jeans: I am obsessed with these rachel rachel roy ear cuffs http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu155/theglamourai/glamourai_PlumGW4w.jpg , http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aaca_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-rachelroy-Site/Sites-rachelroy-catalog/default/v1283488334643/products/PG.79940494.JJ169A6.PD.jpg, but the price ($65.00) is way more than I want to spend. Know of any cute ear cuffs for a nicer price?

Love adding a little edge to my look. I’m totally going to check out the pair from Express.
