UPDATE: Save an additional 30% off at JCrew.com with code SHOPNOW! Thanks Hannah!
Shorts might be the last thing you would think to buy as a transition piece but I’m telling you, they are Perfect! You still have at least a month on the east coast and months/forever on the west until shorts start getting retired.
When the leaves start to change it will be the perfect time to pull out your blazer but the temperature will be just a little too high to be completely covered up, that where the legs come in. Longer shorts provide the coverage you need to keep it appropriate and the air you need to keep it cooler.
Right now J. Crew has their Broken-In Chino Boyfriend Short for only $34.50!!! The most exciting part is that the shorts come in this falls must have colors! These shorts are fabulous for transition because they are not short, shorts. No tushy hanging out here. The will become a staple in your closet for years, as most J. Crew clothing goes it just doesn’t go out of style.
The perfect Fall Transition Look consists of longer shorts, a blouse, a blazer, bobby socks and chunky platforms. For now while it’s still HOTT, match these shorts with a pretty tank and your favorite summer sandals.

you forgot the 30% off sale items – they’re only $24.15 with the “SHOPNOW” code!
What do you think – Can you also wear those with quite short legs? I like the look a lot, but I’m not sure about that.
Thanks for the great sale tip Hannah!!
Musk- I think shorter legs might have to adjust what “long” means. It should be in proportion to your leg… so the length that works on someone that’s 5′6″+ won’t work for you…but you can def. pull it off !
oh, thanks SO much for posting these! i’ve been looking for some nice shorts to dress up for my birthday on Labor day… def. have to go try them on in store
xxxo, Vanessa
