I absolutely love the feminine, 1940’s feel of this sheer blouse! This look is much more versatile than you might think, depending on what you wear underneath.
You can pair it with the proper nude undergarments for work…use it as a sophisticated swim suit cover-up… or my fave, jazz it up with daring dark lingerie a la Carrie Bradshaw for a sexy night or weekend look!
Regardless of how you decide to wear it, if you go for the sheer, keep the rest of your outfit modest, understated and tailored (kind of like the simple shorts shown here).
This blouse from Urban Outfitters is a little pricey ($58), but I love how it illustrates the look…and it’s just plain lovely!! And it also comes in NINE color options so you can choose from varying degrees of sheerness!
There are tons of sheer options out there for less with different prints or even plain, solids that give the same feel. And keep in mind this is something that can easily be layered under a cardigan, a vest or even your favorite blazer when it’s time to beat the chill once again!

I have this shirt and as much as I like it, it wasn’t worth the price at all. I’ve worn in maybe five times, to work where it’s not much but sitting, and the shirt is already fraying. The material feels somewhat cheap and it is extremely sheer. Just an FYI.
