I’ve been wearing extensions for 2 years now. Dont glue or sew them in I did both and I had to chop all my hair off because of the damage just go to Beauty Supply warehouse or Sally’s (however you can find real hair at bsw for 35$ versus 90 at sally’s) buy some clips, needle, and thread and you’re good to go. Make sure you don’t leave them lying around or sleep in them. They’ll get pretty messed up. They also sell little cases for extensions so they will last longer

After I received a too-short cut, I tried Remy brand clip-in hair extensions and I loved the results! I got so many compliments and my friends could not tell my natural hair from the extensions. They are super easy to apply and stay in place very well. I think hair extensions can look great if they are done well, meaning a good color/texture match. I would also recommend avoiding extensions that are excessively long…it’s a dead giveaway.

I’ve been wearing Great Lengths for about 4 or 5 years now and they are definitely the best by far. They are very expensive but worth every penny as far as I’m concerned. I do take them out every 5 months and give my hair a break for a week or so before putting them back in. During that time, I wear Lord & Cliff clip in extensions. They are a little more expensive but much better than the Jessica Simpson version with a far better color selection. Just thought I’d share.

I wear extenstion from time to time!!! and I LOVE THEM! but i wouldnt recommend the Jessica Simpson style, i bought two sets and they are not high quality and they do not fit your head very well! I would suggest the clip in REMY human hair…they are fairly inexpenisve and they come in full sets but its multiple hair piece not one huge hair piece (like some of the simpson line, which make your hair look really BIG). The Remy you can get at a sally beauty supply and they can be dyed, curled, ironed etc…AMAZING!!

The hands down BEST place to get inexpensive but real hair extensions that you clip in is at this beauty supply store on the corner of 35th and 8th Ave in NYC. You pick out the color, they measure your head, and in a few hours they will have a head full of clip ins ready for you to pick up. I think it costs only about $100. They look SO natural! You can wash and style them and reuse them over and over.

As Aimee said, if done right they can look fabulous. That being said, I think people should have fun with fashion and hair, and take risks. If it doesn’t look cheap, I say go for it.

I think that done well, extensions can be great for certain occasions and actor transformation and the like, but I'm still wary about them for everyday wear! I think the fact is that I've never seen good, natural looking extensions in person. (And I'd be afraid that my clip in ones would fall out!) In Class, En Vogue
