I can see how some might have their doubts, but… I’m into it, I’ve decided. Look at it this way: you’ve tried sparkly whites and barely-there pale pinks. Why not give something a bit more unexpected a chance?
Oddly enough, picking this (sometimes considered to be) “boring” shade as your nail color could be seen as quite… daring!
Gotta love the logic of fashion.
The best CheapChica option is probably OPI’s Over-the-Taupe shade (a little over $5.00)… unless you don’t mind shelling out $23.00 for Chanel’s not unsurprisingly gorgeous Particuliere.
Nail polish trends are so great… it’s never been cheaper to make a runway-inspired statement…

I have the new OPI Matte Taupe Nail polish, and I absolutely luv it! That being said I have to warn you, you must wear a clear base coat, or the polish will stain your nails, I wish someone had warned me, I’m still waiting for my nails to grow out!

Chanel’s Particuliare has been sold out since it’s debut in January. I was lucky enough to get it and, unfortunately for those who weren’t, there is no dupe for it. It’s a very unique shade that changes color in different lighting. This shade from OPI is too taupe.

On my way to get it! Sorry about all the snow. In SoCal we’ve been having wonderful suny days…but this weekend will be raining…and frankly it is scary because CALIFORNIANS do NOT know how to drive when it rains!

I highly recommend the “Commander in Chic” shade from Sally Hansen. It’s similar to Chanel’s Particulière but a lot less expensive, obviously. I wore it last week and got a ton of compliments!

(Oops. Should have read the comment about making sure to do a base coat!) I bought this color yesterday and I LOVE IT! It’s trendy, and perfect for work. I’m a sucker for new OPI shades.
