sequin resized2I am constantly on the lookout for new and creative fashion inspiration, whether it is from catalogs, my favorite sites, books, magazines, TV, movies, fashion ads, posters or just walking around the city. The great thing is that there is never a lack of inspiration out there!!

This week I was looking for inspiration for all those holiday parties I will have to be attending. It can be overwhelming for a girl to come up with ten different outfits on a budget…and let’s face it we don’t want to be seen re-wearing anything!

After perusing a number of sites, I came across this photo of a girl who is wearing my new favorite trend…SEQUINS! I was instantly struck at how her outfit took a different spin on the trend. I love how the sequins are paired with a chiffon material, for they accent each other so well. The heavy weight of the sequins and the light airy effect of the chiffon combine to make a very party chic outfit!

Picture 1There are so many options out there if you are a sequin lover. Forever 21, has great sequin tops that can be paired with any chiffon skirt. Try this paillette mesh top with this lovely tiered ruffle skirt from Urban Outfitters. You can either wear the tank tucked in to achieve a more sleek and girly look or keep it out for an edgier, funky look. Add a pair of booties and small clutch and you have got a TDF party outfit…and remember when wearing sequins you don’t have to overdo the accessories!!

Urban Outfitters, also has these unbelievable sequin shorts that will make anyone do a double-take when they see you on the street. They look great paired with a simple T, blazer and tights.

If you haven’t tried wearing sequins yet, I advise that you do and if half your wardrobe contains sequins, try this different take on the trend! And remember always be on the lookout for new inspiration…it’s all around you.
