Leather just tends to look better as it ages (especially with rough and tumble cowboy boots!) I have a cobbler that I've been going to for about five years now, and someone didn't pick up a pair of beautiful cognac leather cowboy boots for six months after they'd dropped them off to be resoled. And since they were my size, my lovely cobbler offered to sell them to me for twenty bucks. :) They're still my favorite. Absolutely, vintage is the way to go.
