Whether you’re on a budget or not these are the 10 must haves every girl should own this summer! Why you ask?? Because these are the kind of items you can wear multiple times, in a variety of ways, that look more and more fabulous! From your boyfriend blazer to that LBD…these are the styles that will keep you right on trend for this season!
It is so important to keep our closets filled with the “essentials” we can get more use out of, and not with pieces we randomly wear. In every one’s wardrobe, there should be a crisp white tank, a boyfriend blazer, a neutral pump, the hobo bag, a great pair of denim jeans, a gladiator flat, the LBD, a statement jewelry piece, rosy blush and a bra that actually fits! What you wear under your clothes, will definitely have an affect on everything you put over!
All of these amazing must-haves are under $25 and these great pieces will allow you to dress up or down and also give you the choice to mix and match with pieces you already own! And remember… you don’t have to spend a lot to look fab!

This is the one style of jean that I receive the most questions on because people tend to find this style the most intimidating! I love my skinnies, but it took me forever to find a pair that was right for me and that didn’t break the bank.
I recently went to Old Navy to buy some flip flps and walked out with 3 pairs of this exact style! I wasn’t in the mood to try these on, but since they had a promotion on them for only $12.99, I couldn’t pass it up. What I liked about them most was that the fit was dead on and the leg opening wasn’t so skinny that I felt ridiculous with them on. They also offer this style in 3 different inseams and they even make them just for petites too!
When you’re shopping for skinnies, make sure you find a pair with some spandex so that the fabric not only stretches, but so that it also recovers after you wear them…not to mention, this will make them WAY more comfortable. I also suggest you try to look for a low-rise, not Britney low, but low enough so that they don’t look like “Mom jeans”!
Old Navy offers this jean in four washes (White, Grey, Dark and Authentic), but avoid the Authentic one and stick to the Dark b/c this style of jeans looks best in a dark denim! These jeans are also pretty classic when it comes to styling so you can easily pair them with a super causal tank and flip flops or dress them up with a satin top and heels! I highly recommend you stop in to your Old Navy and try these on for size (and for the discount since it’s not reflected online)…you might be a skinny jeans girl after all!

Do you ever have these moments?? I’m met with an invention that’s so simple but that totally solves life’s little problems…like getting your pant hem caught between you foot and your shoe!
Well, these little clear plastic strips from Out Ease are supposed to keep your hem rigid so that the material doesn’t get caught under you heel when you’re wearing open back shoes, like slingbacks or sandals!
I’m only 5′1″ so I always hem my pants extra long (so that I at least appear to be taller) and it drives me crazy when the bottom catches the back of my foot, so I tried these all week and…
they worked well initially, but they weren’t sticky enough to last all day. They were also a little tricky to position, but all in all something I would use again.

As my name suggests, Daramascara, was coined because, like many of you, mascara is my ‘stranded on a desert island’ product. I am obsessed with finding not only the best mascara, but also the perfect combination to ensure lashes are lengthened, thickened, dramatic, clump free, and don’t flake. Uhhh…I’m out of breath!
Believe it or not, my favorite mascara of all time is budget-friendly Maybelline Lash Stylist in Very Black…it’s only $5.99! The well spaced teeth of this small comb deposits more product at the roots of the lashes for an extremely black, defined look. This allows for you to repeatedly stroke the wand through the lashes to build for volume. I love the fact that you can layer any mascara on top and it will not clump because the majority of product layers at the root.
Pro-tip: In a hurry? Softly sketch the tip of the wand of the Lash Stylist Mascara through the bottom lash line and smudge with fingers as a quick liner application- Double Duty!
Pro-tip: Small eyes? Skip the ‘Fat Brush’ trend and stick with thinner mascara wands that build volume for the root of lashes. If the brush is bigger than your eye it defeats the purpose of layering for volume

Let me just start by saying that I’m not a huge fan of Jessica Biel…I think she frowns way too much for someone that gets to share a bed with Justin Timberlake! She’s a really beautiful girl and I feel bad that no one ever has nice things to say about her, but it’s hard when all she does is complain about how pretty she is and how hard her life is. In this rare sighting, on her way to David Letterman, Jessica did actually smile for the cameras and what do you know…she looks radiant!
I really like this outfit because it shows us that basics don’t have to look basic! We all have Navy and Khaki somewhere in our closets, but combined with the right jewelry (in silver, NOT gold) and a great neutral wedge/sandal, these two tones take on a very modern and updated life! Here are some inexpensive options to help you get Jessica’s look…

We are getting married in Cabo but I want a nice romantic (not long) white dress to wear to our at home reception when we get back. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. My budget is limited to nothing over $200.00.
Thanks,
Cabo Bound
Dear Cabo Bound,
Congrats on your upcoming nuptuials and on picking such a beautiful location for your destination wedding! I’m a fellow “married in Mexico” bride and it was one of the best decisioons my hubby and I ever made…the setting was spectacular and our guests absolutely loved it!
Now on to the dress…for your at home reception, you want to look for a dress that’s soft and romantic like you said, but that’s dressy enough to compliment the celebration. That being said, you don’t want to pick a material that’s too light and airy (jersey, linen, voile,) because you’ll end up looking too casual. Look for a dress that has some nice detailing or an interesting neckline, like this style from Lulu’s in a more sophisticated fabric like silk or chiffon.
I think this silhouette perfectly captures exactly how a bride wants to feel on her wedding day…beautiful, elegant and chic! And in case this one doesn’t make the cut, here are some other suggestions that are also budget-friendly…

I often get asked to review a product, but I only say yes when I feel like it could be something that fills a void in my daily beauty or fashion routine…so when Dove sent me a sample of their new Ultimate Visibly Smooth deodorant I couldn’t wait to try it…especially since the Summer was right around the corner!
I mean who doesn’t want to reduce the appearance of hair just by putting on your daily deodorant!?! I’ve been using it for a little over 4 weeks and I can visibly see a difference in both the look and feel and at only $3.49, it totally beats out waxing!
Overall I really like this product and whatever ingredient is in this to help minimize hair growth is a total winner! It kept me very dry and fresh feeling all day…although I wasn’t the biggest fan of the scent so I’m hoping they come out with an unscented version in the next round. I also LOVE that it left absolutely NO trace of white marks on any of my clothes…even when I immediately put them on after applying!
I’m such a huge fan of this product that I asked Dove if they would give out some FREE samples to my lovely readers and they agreed! To enter, simply leave a comment with your favorite Dove product and you’ll automatically be included in the give-a-way!
You can also click here to save $2 on this in stores!
Note: This giveaway ends on 06/12 and the winner will be notified via email. The contest is only open to U.S. residents.

I rarely get very excited when I get a yellow UPS notice on my door, but this one was from Gorjana and I couldn’t wait to open up my little box of goodies! I ordered several pieces from this Laguna Beach designer a few weeks go at the Accessories Circuit show in New York and while the show was full of really beautiful jewelry, no vendor caught my eye quite like the designs from Gorjana.
I love the simplicity and ease of her designs and this Acacia ring is the a perfect example of what you can expect to find in the collection and what editors from Lucky, In Style and Glamour have also fallen in love with! I ordered this ring for my Mom and for myself and …if I had to pick a favorite from everything I bought, this would be it! I’ve worn it every day since it arrived!
So while this ring normally retails for $60 in either Sterling of 18K gold plated, the girls at Gorjana have generously offered a 20% discount for all of my readers which makes the ring $48 and worth every penny! Just use code “cheapchicas” when checking out and take a second to shop the rest of the collection…espcially the “Super Star” necklace!

Us girls sometimes need a little pick-me-up every now and then!
I absolutely adore this flapper style dress and I think it’s the perfect blend of vintage and sexy!
It’s from one of my favorite online stores, Lulu’s, so you know the quality will be fantastic and the price will be totally budget friendly…$54 to be exact! I don’t have a special occasion to wear it to, so I might just have to make one up for it.
I also have to point out that if you’re picking this dress up for an outdoor event, it will keep you nice and cool because the soft chiffon is super light weight and the cut of the dress moves away from the body. But be careful if you’re wearing this to a wedding…you might just look prettier than the bride!!

In this new weekly feature, I’ve teamed up with mystyle’s resident “star” reporter, Danielle Datu, who’s giving us the style scoop from her red carpet adventures with today’s hottest leading ladies!!
Rachel Bilson is one of my star style crushes. She can go from boho chic to androgynous to glam in a heartbeat. “I like to be comfortable. That always comes first,” the PYT told me. “But I also like to have a little twist to my look.”
That twist includes wrapping a funky scarf around her neck. “I’m such a jeans and T-shirt girl that I’m so into accessories like scarves. I like to collect those a lot,” she dished. “They’re important because they can really make an outfit.”
The actress may have her own fashion line, Edie Rose, but she couldn’t help but give props to fellow celeb designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. “They do a really good job with The Row,” she gushed. “I literally love almost every piece.”
Her favorite place to shop for steals? “I go to TJ Maxx because you can find really good things for really good prices!”
