This dress stuck out from the pack a few weeks ago when I first saw it online, and now Forever 21 has made a tube top version of it. I like it, but I’m kind of on the fence about the diagonal origami-like pleats because I think they might overwhelm my small frame…
What do you think? Would you buy the dress version or the top…or neither?

I greatly prefer the top to the dress. I love both the grey and rosy beige colours they’re offering. I think the top is a little cleaner and less fussy than the dress, and would be less overwhelming. It might be nice for girls who want to create the appearance of a fuller bust, too. ^_^
The top is so much cuter than the dress. I kind of wish the top came in dress form.
I think the top is cuter. If you’re petite, the ruffles on the dress will make u appear tiny.
They look like lazy attempts at recreating Leanne from Project Runway’s signature waves ruffles, but in different colors. I think I’ll wait for her Bluefly collection to come out instead of getting these unflattering imitations.

I think the dress would definitely overwhelm any small and/or short frame. I think this would work best on a tall person with the additional help of tall heels. The lengthwise pleats would look best on someone who is tall. Aside from that, I think the long pleats are a little distracting. All I see is the weird pleats, you can get lost in it.
But I think anyone can pull off the tube top.
Hmmm well they do catch the eye, but I don’ t think they catch your eye for the right reasons. I think this is an interesting piece, but I wouldn’t purchase either of them as I am sure this is something I would regret. It reminds me vaguely of shark fins, only these are growing off your chest. I’m gonna vote no.
