Look For Less: Fur Swing Coat
I noticed this Juicy Couture faux fur coat a while ago, but what really stood out was the price. I mean $358 for something that’s faux…that’s a little ridiculous!
Either way, I really loved the hoodie, the length. the bracelet sleeves, and most of all, I loved the versatility of the jacket. It’s something that I could easily throw over jeans and a tee or I could wear over a cute dress for a night out. I searched high and low for something similar but nothing really fit the bill until I came across this almost identical version over at Express.com.
They totally captured the same cool 70’s vibe of the original at less than half the cost! And I was able to find a 15% off coupon (use code 4655 at checkout) for Express which makes the coat an even more attractive buy at $150.80.
But If you can wait until 2/1 to buy this jacket in-store, use your Express Cash which will give you $25 off EVERY $50 you spend …making the coat a pretty little deal at only $75.80!
At this point I’m sure most of you already have your winter wears, but if you don’t, this would be a great addition to your closet and a fabulous way to up the luxe factor of any outfit!

Introducing…
I want to take a minute to highlight the newest addition to this blog, StyleCents.
Each week I receive countless coupons codes, promos, sale alerts, offers, etc… and I’m always conflicted about what to do with all that information! While I want to share the savings and spread the wealth, I don’t want to clutter the home page with coupon code after coupon code…IMO, there’s way more important things to post about!
So instead of posting a long list on the home page, I created a special page to house all of these great offers. Each week, I’ll go through all the sales and promotions for you and post the best deals in cyberspace! And as always, comments and suggestions are always welcome so if you have a better idea for sharing this info or if you have a special code you’d like to share, please let me know!

Menage a Trois

Not that you need more reasons to love Forever 21…
but what I love most about them is that they cover all their bases. Some stores are a little too heavy on the “going out” clothes, but whenever I walk into F21, I always take notice of how well each one of their “lifestyle” sections is stocked. They strike a nice balance between work and play clothes and for someone like me, who has a tendency to overshop for dressier items, this really helps.
Lately, I’ve really made an effort to even out my purchases so that if I buy one casual dress, I have to buy one dress that I can wear to work….and so forth. And while that might sound expensive, with all of these adorable options priced under $30 it makes shopping a whole lot easier and more affordable!

Serving up major Style
I’m not usually a fan of Orla Kiely… clothes or handbags for that matter. Something about wearing those prints on a bag or a dress feel a little too kitschy for me and they’re pretty pricey so I tend to avoid even looking at her stuff.
Well, Target has found a genius use for all her retro and vintage inspired prints…housewares! When cute pears, dainty dots and geometric flowers end up on an assortment of dishware, glassware, serving ware and on a slew of organizational items, count me in!
I’m not sure what the price points are yet, but you can usually count on Target for pretty inexpensive kitchen items. Look for the collection in stores the first week of February! Kitchen makeover anyone??

Shibuya, Shi-whata?
I’m guessing this is a new collection for the retailer, kind of like Twelve by Twleve?? The name is a little confusing but exciting at the same time…Shibuya is one of the most fashion-forward places on the planet and also happens to be the home of Tokyo’s newest fashion district so I’m hoping for some really unique and inspired pieces…at really affordable prices!
But the styling of this promo photo are sending me some mixed messages…a jean skirt and one of those crushed straw cowboy hats (that kind the Real Housewives of the OC looooooove) aren’t exactly fashionable.
So what do you think…what should we expect from this new collection?

Sh-Oreo
I rarely buy a black pair of shoes. Sure I have the standard issue black pump (if you consider 4″ patent Sigerson Morrisons standard) and a pair of black “shoeties”, but my eye always always wanders towards color and texture when it comes to shoes…not to mention, I always like wearing the unexpected when it comes to footwear.
A few weeks ago, a pair of graphic black and white McQueen heels totally caught my eye and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I thought of all the items in my closet…skirts, dresses, jeans, even the dreaded black pant…that would greatly benefit from this shoe. So when I found this pair I clicked “add to cart” faster than you can say yes, please ….these are black, white, delicious and only $79.95 at Bakers.
And while I might have to hold off on wearing them for a few more months, these are totally worth waiting for!

Speaking of…

If I were lucky enough to be at Sundance this weekend, this is one of the films I would be dying to see!
RJ Cutler’s documentary, The September Issue, is a real life “Devil Wears Prada” and was compiled from 300+ hours of footage he shot during his 8 months at Vogue. The film is said to have Anna Wintour’s seal of approval (some even say she’ll attend the Sundance premiere) but I have a feeling that since Cutler had final cut, Ms. Wintour might be in for a surprise…or at least I hope so!
I couldn’t post the video but you can click here to watch a preview of the film on Fashionologie.

StyleProfile: Sundance
The Sundance Film Festival officially kicked off yesterday, so I thought I’d have a look at some of the fashions- the good, the bad and the UGLY- from last year…

and as you can see from these pictures, celebrities + cold weather = bad fashion choices…so I’m sure we’ll have plenty of fashion don’ts to discuss over the next two weeks! And since my husband happens to be in Park City this weekend, I’m hoping he’ll get some candid/papparazzi style shots that I can post for your entertainment purposes!

Mark your calendars…
On January 20th, it’s FREE make-up for everyone!!!
Because of a major lawsuit filed against department stores in California in 2003, stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s are being forced to give away $175 million worth of beauty products nationwide, for free, to anybody who walks into their stores. Shoppers only get one item per cosmetic company, while supplies last.
And this isn’t the cheap stuff either…think Chanel, Christian Dior, Clarins, Lancome, etc. Participating stores include:
Bloomingdale’s
Dillard’s
Macy’s
Neiman Marcus
Nordstrom
Saks Fifth Avenue
…and many more so click here for complete details on what freebies you can expect to score! And here’s the legal filing for those of you that are into “rules”.
